If you are an author and are promoting your work, this is the folder for you. One thing I love about GR is that is is awesome for promotion, especially for 1st time writers. I love to support writers so this dedicated for you however I asked that you don't promote your work in the actual book discussions. Here is where you can do all of your promotion. Also, you can request reviews, editing, and feedback in this folder.

Hello Group Mediator, and fellow writers; My name is V, I am a poet and artist by nature. I currently live in Indianapolis, In I work two part-times, and raise my five-year-old dau. I have dreamed of having an impact on Mankind for almost my entire life. As I began to see how crowds could be swayed and/or wowed by the words we choose, I became enthralled with poetry. Nikki Giovanni, Naomi Long Madgett, Maya Angelou and Langston Hughes,(to name a few) all represented us to an extent which got me fired up about expression.
My first poetry collection, Hear Me Roar by V. Pain Hear Me Roar, features spoken word and free verse documenting some of the hardest years of my life. I laughed, I loved, I learned, and I fell, I got up, and tried again. Please find a piece of your story, nestled within mine. With sections like, 'First love', 'Daydreams' and 'Vibin''- I am sure you will relate. I invite ANY other authors to read and enjoy HEAR ME ROAR, please enjoy the Letter to the Reader at the end, as well! Inbox me about exchanging reviews, and I have been booted from KDP...(FOR NOW lol)www.amazon.com/dp/B00BS0OOY4 (for Kindle) http://mzvpain.deviantart.com [Blog]http://goodreads.com/Vpain [On Goodreads]

Hello V, and thanks for joining. I will definitely be checking out Hear Me Roar. I love the idea of that title for a poetry collection. I too share a passion for poetry. Maya A. and Langston H. being my two favorites.

"As I began to see how crowds could be swayed and/or wowed by the words we choose, I became enthralled with poetry"
That too is what began my passion for poetry and fiction. So I imagine we will have great discussions.

EDIT: Just read an excerpt from Hear Me Roar It's "called Now what?" I love it...Just put it on my tbr list and I will be getting it! Beautiful poem!

V. Pain (Vpain) | 63 comments YAY! I am glad you enjoyed it. I am humbled when I am understood. Don't get me wrong, you may get some street lit, but I enjoy being eloquent, as well as shocking, effective, as well as entertaining! As far as networking, I look forward to it! I enjoy depth in others! Thank you!

You're welcome. And there is nothing wrong with street-lit when it's well-written and original. I like The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah and Lady's Night by Mark Anthony and one of my favorite authors is Eric Jerome Dickeywho plays arond in the street-lit genre here and there. It's just rare when it's done right. I like a good message. Sister Souljah had a terrific message in TCWE. So it can be done right. Now when you start talking Triple Crown Publications, that's when I turn my nose up and start acting bougie lol! Too many grammatical errors, no strong or original plot line and things like that.

Inmy list is a book of short stories, from the sheets to streets....tsk, tsk, tsk I am going to start a shelf called forced reads (wanted to review, but was just hard on the brain) Have you read 'Stealing Candy' or 'Big Juicy Lips?' Each has plots, Allison Hobbs is quite a writer!

Felipe Fernandez | 13 comments Thank you so much for doing this. I believe you can only run a free giveaway on Kindle once every 60 days. I just ran one recently, so can't do it again for a while. I am posting my first novel one chapter a day on my website where people can read it free. Today I put up chapter 5, "The Slaves". This book actually made it to the 50 semi finalists in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award when I entered it. Feel free to read it at...
