A little hope can go a long way. Maybe even save a life.
This is a short story written in verse.
A story of a boy that has to deal the reality that his mother is balancing between life and death. He tries to keep her spirit alive by doing all the things that she used to do; all of her favourite things. With the help from his sister he realizes that a little hope for his mother to pull through is all they really need.

The Shadow Slayers

Hi, I'm new to Goodreads, but not so new to Wattpad. Unfortunately, I don't have any comments. I see reads, but no one says what they think of the story and I would really love to know. I have six chapters up. If anyone feels like reading a fantasy romance here's a small excerpt:

♀♀♀Claire took her glass back and ordered one for Phoebe. As she waited, her sister nudged her. “A God is coming our way.”

Claire glanced in the direction Phoebe indicated. Her eyes widened in appreciation. He might not be a God, but he was the most handsome man on earth.

Disheveled auburn hair fell across his dark green eyes. He pushed it back, but an unruly strand fell back. His body was lean, but muscular. Claire envied the graceful way he moved in. he smiled and gazed to his right. It was then, she noticed the two girls tucked under his arms. The girl on his left whispered something in his ear. He threw back his head and laughed.

Claire froze. There was no way she could forget that laugh. Strange feelings had spread through her when she first heard it. Now, as she saw the man that went with the laugh, the feelings assailed her with more force.

The small group moved closer to her, the man’s full lips stretched in a smile. But as his green gaze landed on her, the smile vanished. He stared at her for a few seconds. His arms dropped away from the girls. Both groaned in dismay, but with a curt, “I’ll see you later,” he dismissed them.

Claire’s world tilted on its axis at the shred look. She’d never believed at love at first sight. But as he continued to gaze at her with such intensity, she couldn’t silence the small voice inside her head, which screamed he was hers.♀♀♀
