If you don't mind the extra work it takes in packing and shipping, I use Amazon for books I think I can get a decent price from.

Otherwise I take them to Brand Books in Glendale on Brand. Not great prices there, but a very nice staff and an excellent used book store.

After that, it's donating them to a library bookstore or Goodwill for me.

i take mine across the street from brand books in glendale, to bookfellows (a.k.a. the mystery and imagination bookstore). they don't give you much (nowhere gives you much) but it's the best bookstore i've found in LA (at least, for my needs, which tend toward hardcover lit in good condition, and out-of-print hard to find old timey sci-fi and fantasy). and the people who run it are wonderful.

oops, just noticed this place is a ghost town.
