I'm applying to go to uni :S really nervous but excited at the same time!

So to kick off this thread and not to put ya too much on the spot. I have to say that I almost choked on my pop laughing over the amount of pain your mom said it felt like having her nipples pierced as well. Worse than child birth. That is a hoot.

Question though. Does the piercings make your nipples more sensitive too or no? I would think so but everyone is different.

Haha, it's ok Ally. Unlike most other nazi mods I don't jump on peeps for talking off topic. But it just hit me earlier that although *I* don't mind it. Most other members might not like have to wade through other off topic subjects just to get to the real content on what the thread is about.

Sweet on enrolling in school. What's your major? Are you going online or actually up to a campus?

lol this is strange, I assumed there was a place for chit chat since this folder was is called daily chit chat. I actually never checked since we have threads that kinda have us end up in the off topic folders having conversations. Glad we got a spot for this though :-)

Oh you lived on campus Carlena? Lucky ducky, could not afford that. Room and board costs are from hell at times.

Oh I think we did. But then there were duplicate threads and then nobody was talking as much in one of them or something. And I think when old mod Tara was around she removed them, maybe. Either way we are good to go over here. :)

Yay Ally. College is the most nerve wrecking, exciting time ever. *sighs* Kinda miss it

Well I had OHLAP. Which is a college tuition grant in the state of Oklahoma that you have to apply for in 8, 9, or 10th grade and is only for people who's family makes 50k a year or less. (We make under 10k) so because we were dirt poor, I got pell grants and did (unfortunately) get loans.

I'm chuffed but I'm not in yet :S I'm doing an art degree, hopefully.
My hubby and I rent a house so we are going to keep with that. I will be physically going to the uni which will be great.
Carlena your so brave, I'm terrified of needles so I would love a pearcing but doubt I will build up the courage ;) tongue would be cool though, I'm sure the hubby would love it ;)

I would never get a tongue ring. But then again i have a short fat tongue. its actually ridiculous. But guys do tend to love them lol ;)

Ah, I did the pell grant stuff too. Had too as well as Last Dollar grant and had some Call to College help back in high school. So that helped for sure.

Oh cool Art degree. That sounds fun and interesting. When do you start? And that is good already having a place to stay. Cuts down on the cost of all that.

It starts in September, just after my little girl turns 2 :( gonna be weird being away from her but great being at uni!!

I feel you about going brakes carlena, I'm rather blessed in that area and I wouldn't like it but wear black maybe ;) and I say go with DH strut and show your stuff ;)

I do a dance class on a Tuesday (i have two left feet but we don't talk about that lol) and she does some wicked 80's moves and you come out feeling amazing! Just makes me wanna strut!

Ah that sucks on missing out your baby girl. But there are breaks hopefully. And the hubs can always send tons of pics too. Even if that doesn't make up for actually holding her and what not. :( Wow, 80's dance class. Now that sounds interesting. And wonder how that would go.

Her name is Charlotte Rose or Lottie, she's fab. She will be going to nursery as hubby will be working. Will get plenty of breaks and work from home a lot so it's all cool :)

I bet. That class totally sounds fun. Would definitely be something I joined if I had some friends in the class. I just wouldn't have the lady balls to join on my own. My left feet and flying elbows just aren't that funny when I'm with nothing but strangers.

Oh I am rubbish at the dance parts but there are only 5 of us and they know how uncoordinated I am ;) I almost wuss out every time but I love it when I go.

:D I'm a language chameleon, I pick up accents and slang insanely quick, I can't control it though and people often think I'm taking the mickey.
I once babysat for a Canadian woman, 4 hours later I left with a Canadian accent!!

Taking the Mickey? Ya I tend to do that to. Or I'll go to the store a d talk in a British accent the whole time. It's actually quite fun. (However my British accent turns more cockney(sp?))

Haha that is cool Ally. I can sometimes pick up some accents too if I listen carefully enough as well. As for slang from other countries I'm just lost. But good to always ask to be sure. I still have a bit of chuckle though when I read something from someone that is from Australia. Now that one I can't help cracking up about. The barbie and the lippy type of words always make me laugh as they sound so made up.

What exactly is a cockney accent Ally? I've only heard/read about that once before in a historical romance book. What is the difference from English?

As for accents in general, I never have much of a reaction to them. Up until a few years ago I started talking with a guy from Tennessee and we got to talking over the phone and my God it was a panty wetter for sure lol.

Literally laughed out loud at the panty wetter thing. Irish accents do it for me for sure.

Cockney is a London accent, the traditional English most people think of is posh English. I'm personally living in Somerset at the moment...land of ooh-arr ;)

Ah ok. I got ya now. I think with American english we use so much slang, that at times I don't even think any of us really know what is posh or not any more. But we have plenty grammar nazis for sure.
