Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Can't recall what I did with the last two general chit-chat threads. But starting a fresh one. So come and tell us what is happening in your world besides reading.

message 2: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments I'm applying to go to uni :S really nervous but excited at the same time!

Great to have a thread for the general chatting ;) don't feel so bad about hijacking other threads now

message 3: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments So to kick off this thread and not to put ya too much on the spot. I have to say that I almost choked on my pop laughing over the amount of pain your mom said it felt like having her nipples pierced as well. Worse than child birth. That is a hoot.

Question though. Does the piercings make your nipples more sensitive too or no? I would think so but everyone is different.

message 4: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha, it's ok Ally. Unlike most other nazi mods I don't jump on peeps for talking off topic. But it just hit me earlier that although *I* don't mind it. Most other members might not like have to wade through other off topic subjects just to get to the real content on what the thread is about.

Sweet on enrolling in school. What's your major? Are you going online or actually up to a campus?

message 5: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Congrats ally! I loved college! Plus I learned some stuff while I was there.

message 6: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Yes, definitely more sensitive. I have several friends who have them and they all said they became more sensitive and so enjoy them even more because of. Dude I can't accidentally graze anything. It

message 7: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments lol this is strange, I assumed there was a place for chit chat since this folder was is called daily chit chat. I actually never checked since we have threads that kinda have us end up in the off topic folders having conversations. Glad we got a spot for this though :-)

message 8: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh you lived on campus Carlena? Lucky ducky, could not afford that. Room and board costs are from hell at times.

message 9: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh I think we did. But then there were duplicate threads and then nobody was talking as much in one of them or something. And I think when old mod Tara was around she removed them, maybe. Either way we are good to go over here. :)

message 10: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yay Ally. College is the most nerve wrecking, exciting time ever. *sighs* Kinda miss it

message 11: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Well I had OHLAP. Which is a college tuition grant in the state of Oklahoma that you have to apply for in 8, 9, or 10th grade and is only for people who's family makes 50k a year or less. (We make under 10k) so because we were dirt poor, I got pell grants and did (unfortunately) get loans.

message 12: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments I'm chuffed but I'm not in yet :S I'm doing an art degree, hopefully.
My hubby and I rent a house so we are going to keep with that. I will be physically going to the uni which will be great.
Carlena your so brave, I'm terrified of needles so I would love a pearcing but doubt I will build up the courage ;) tongue would be cool though, I'm sure the hubby would love it ;)

message 13: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Haha wearing a bra sucks then huh Carlena!?

message 14: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Oh I miss college too. Not the 20 page research papers, but still.

message 15: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments I haven't put the bra on since the piercing happened. Have no idea what I'm gonna do when I need to go to the store. I'm a big girl, with big ole boobies and that

message 16: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Stuff aint pretty! Lol

message 17: by Shari-amor, Doll Cake (new)

Shari-amor | 5275 comments Yeah tongue piercings arent that bad and not as much maintenance

message 18: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments I would never get a tongue ring. But then again i have a short fat tongue. its actually ridiculous. But guys do tend to love them lol ;)

message 19: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ah, I did the pell grant stuff too. Had too as well as Last Dollar grant and had some Call to College help back in high school. So that helped for sure.

Oh cool Art degree. That sounds fun and interesting. When do you start? And that is good already having a place to stay. Cuts down on the cost of all that.

Nothing wrong with short fat tongues, they get the guys too so I hear. ;) And no worries some women can go braless with ease. I say be confident and give any body look a wink and strut your stuff Carlena.

message 20: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Lol. Thats hilarious. I don't think I am that confident without a bra on. Lol

message 21: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments It starts in September, just after my little girl turns 2 :( gonna be weird being away from her but great being at uni!!

I feel you about going brakes carlena, I'm rather blessed in that area and I wouldn't like it but wear black maybe ;) and I say go with DH strut and show your stuff ;)

I do a dance class on a Tuesday (i have two left feet but we don't talk about that lol) and she does some wicked 80's moves and you come out feeling amazing! Just makes me wanna strut!

message 22: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Ha ha, brakes! That was supposed to say bra-less!

message 23: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Stick with us Carlena you will be strutting in no time. ;)

Ah that sucks on missing out your baby girl. But there are breaks hopefully. And the hubs can always send tons of pics too. Even if that doesn't make up for actually holding her and what not. :( Wow, 80's dance class. Now that sounds interesting. And wonder how that would go.

message 24: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Haha. Thanks ally. Ill have to wear black. Lol. What's your little girls name?

message 25: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Oooo 80s dancing. I love it!

message 26: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Her name is Charlotte Rose or Lottie, she's fab. She will be going to nursery as hubby will be working. Will get plenty of breaks and work from home a lot so it's all cool :)

Hope they feel less painful soon Carlena :)

The dance class is hilarious, it's kind of fitness and dance but at the end she always does some funky moves for a laugh ;)

message 27: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Ahh ok, you're from the UK. Lol. You were saying uni and then nursery. I was like she ain't from here. Oooh where's she from? Looked at your profile and boom, I was right ^_^. And also ally your daughters name is beautiful.

message 28: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ahhh, that is the cutest name ever Ally. And that is definitely a sweet deal then for your family.

I bet. That class totally sounds fun. Would definitely be something I joined if I had some friends in the class. I just wouldn't have the lady balls to join on my own. My left feet and flying elbows just aren't that funny when I'm with nothing but strangers.

message 29: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Also ally, what is chuffed?

message 30: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Cherale give yourself more credit girl! I'm sure you could get down to funky town!

message 31: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Oh I could get down to funky town in my own way. Just me and dance classes never mixed. Doing my own thing works better in most cases.

message 32: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Oh me too Cherale. I can't keep up with others so I do my own thing.

message 33: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Oh I am rubbish at the dance parts but there are only 5 of us and they know how uncoordinated I am ;) I almost wuss out every time but I love it when I go.

Took ages to pick her name, I'm liking Tabatha or Sotera for the next one lol

Yeah uni fits our lives right now :D

Chuffed is really pleased, sorry English slang!

message 34: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Don't apologize. :) I like hearing slang terms from people around the world. You'll definitely hear it from me. (Y'all is my personal fav)

message 35: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments :D I'm a language chameleon, I pick up accents and slang insanely quick, I can't control it though and people often think I'm taking the mickey.
I once babysat for a Canadian woman, 4 hours later I left with a Canadian accent!!

message 36: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Taking the Mickey? Ya I tend to do that to. Or I'll go to the store a d talk in a British accent the whole time. It's actually quite fun. (However my British accent turns more cockney(sp?))

message 37: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Haha that is cool Ally. I can sometimes pick up some accents too if I listen carefully enough as well. As for slang from other countries I'm just lost. But good to always ask to be sure. I still have a bit of chuckle though when I read something from someone that is from Australia. Now that one I can't help cracking up about. The barbie and the lippy type of words always make me laugh as they sound so made up.

message 38: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments :) cockney is a good accent, not all that sexy but on a female I don't think many English ones are ;)
I love a man with an Irish accent.....hose me down!

message 39: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments What exactly is a cockney accent Ally? I've only heard/read about that once before in a historical romance book. What is the difference from English?

As for accents in general, I never have much of a reaction to them. Up until a few years ago I started talking with a guy from Tennessee and we got to talking over the phone and my God it was a panty wetter for sure lol.

message 40: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Literally laughed out loud at the panty wetter thing. Irish accents do it for me for sure.

message 41: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Ha ha! Fantastic!!

Cockney is a London accent, the traditional English most people think of is posh English. I'm personally living in Somerset at the moment...land of ooh-arr ;)

message 42: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments I almost laughed out loud too...and considering my daughter is asleep in my lap it's good that I held it in, but it was tough

message 43: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Lol. Good thing for Lottie mainly. No one like Los a grumpy kiddo. Lol

message 44: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Likes not Los. Geez, stupid phone

message 45: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments Lol, she's in bed now so I'm free to laugh as much as I like ;)

message 46: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Lol. Good. Now I feel pressure to be funny.

message 47: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments Ah ok. I got ya now. I think with American english we use so much slang, that at times I don't even think any of us really know what is posh or not any more. But we have plenty grammar nazis for sure.

Haha, well he did have a great voice and it wasn't even a dirty phone chat either. Just regular stuff. But my goodness that was the best set of convos of my life. Could bottle it and improve some sex lives, lol.

message 48: by Ally (new)

Ally | 325 comments That's why I'm here, to make you all be funny at my command ;)

message 49: by Dhfan4life, Honey Bun (new)

Dhfan4life | 10411 comments It's all good Carlena. You are naturally funny so just let it flow is what I say.

Niterz to the baby girl. :) Now Ally can partay with us!

message 50: by Carlena, Pumpkin Pie/Care Bear (new)

Carlena | 1753 comments Lol. Don't know about the Tennessee accent doing it for me. Maybe bottle up a Minnesota one? Lol jk.
