Tim Bedair | 15 comments So im a new laymon fan I was wondering if some of the longer fans could list the most exciting and gruesome books in order from most to least

message 2: by Tim (new)

Tim Bedair | 15 comments By the way i have read After Midnight, Come out tonight, Endless night and Funland. I feel like Endless night was the most graphic and I really wanted a list because sometimes im in the mood for some really gorry exciting sexual disgusting stuff and somtimes i just want to read a really cool story dosnt have to be fast paced thanks to anyone who can help.

Andy Astle | 4 comments There are loads to get into and it's a case of just go through and see how you find them. Try 'island' and 'quake'. The beast house trilogy is his classic.
Sometimes I find his books hard to get into but once they get going I'm hooked. Island is the sexual one and quake is the sick one. Enjoy and would be great to know what you thought of them.

Tim Bedair | 15 comments I will let you know I think ill start with quake I have bought most of his ebooks for my kindle so i'm only missing a few like glory bus stake and a couple others so far the ones I have read I like endless night Tue best then come out tonight ill let you know what I think of quake.

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 61 comments Glory Bus (aka Into The Fire) was my first Laymon. The only one I've found in paperback. That one was probably the goriest and weirdest of his that I have read. I agree that Island is also quite amazing. One of the best endings ever. For a mixture of gore and sexual depravity I think the novella Triage in the book by the same name - with stories by Jack Ketchum and Edward Lee - is one disturbing mixture of both ingredients. Even I felt a little disturbed by that one.

Jason Mott (jasonmott) | 1 comments One Rainy Night and Resurrection Dreams are a couple of great ones by Laymon.

message 7: by Joe (new)

Joe Stamber Ha-ha, definitely try Island, Laymon at his pervy best!

message 8: by Tim (new)

Tim Bedair | 15 comments Awsome gonna try island after I finish quake and I want to read one rainy night as well

message 9: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 61 comments I really want to read Quake. I've heard nothing but great things about it.

message 10: by Scotty (new)

Scotty (scotaidh) | 4 comments i'll have to say "one rainy night"

message 11: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Rayne | 36 comments Quake is good. One Rainy Night is class until you get to the explanation which was a bit half-assed. The action in it was great though.

message 12: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Rayne | 36 comments The Beast House trilogy is pretty graphic. Woods are dark and Out are the Lights were graphic too. Both of those are brilliant. Island and In the Dark are probably the best two

Tim Bedair | 15 comments Awsome I was afraid after reading a lot of the comments, but I figured out the only comments that are trustworthy are of the true laymon fans thanks

message 14: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 61 comments Just finished The Beast House, second in the series. I hope the third one is as good. It looks much longer than the first two.

message 15: by Erin (new)

Erin | 4 comments For me The Lake (my favorite Laymon book) was most exciting. Another really exciting one was After Midnight. I think Cuts was the most graphic for me so far.

message 16: by Jeremy (new)

Jeremy Boatwright | 8 comments Into the fire is my favorite, but cuts or the beast house series. Savage was just an all around good book. It has Jack the Ripper in it.

message 17: by Jacob (new)

Jacob Rayne | 36 comments I was very disappointed with Savage. Laymon and Jack the ripper should have been great but the midsection bored me to tears

message 18: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 61 comments Just got a TOR paperback copy of Flesh with this cover Flesh by Richard Laymon . I am excited to read it. I think you told me it was good, Jacob.

I loved Into The Fire, it was my second read of Laymon's. Such a crazy and hallucinogenic read.

Jacob Rayne | 36 comments I loved Flesh. Read it in a day that one

If I didn't have three books going right now, I'd tear it up. Has to wait for a little while. It'll age like fine wine on my bookshelf in the meantime.

Tim Bedair | 15 comments Thanks for the recommendations I loved quake and im reading resurrection dreams now

Halfway through Flesh now. Loving it man. It's a hoot!

message 24: by Tim (new)

Tim Bedair | 15 comments I'll have to read flesh next

message 25: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine Taylor (lorrainet) | 4 comments I'm so jealous of all who still have great Laymon books to read. I wish I could erase my memory and re-discover him; I'd lock myself away for weeks and read his books one after the other :))

message 26: by Tim (new)

Tim Bedair | 15 comments So Lorraine what were your top 10 laymon books

message 27: by Adam (new)

Adam Light (goodreadscomadamlight) | 61 comments Just started Funland.
