If someone asked Macen if she liked the fish here, she would say no. Macen wasn't much of the seafood type, ever since her dad made her skin a fish when she was ten the sight of them was enough to make her sick to her stomach. So why out of all the places in Adairshire was she here? Well, for one she was avoiding her parents and they would never look for her in here, and for two they had amazing chicken tenders and fries. Something she probably shouldn't be eating if she wanted to stay in competing shape, but she would just work out harder for a few days to make up for it. Food was Macy's main weakness, she could never starve herself or survive on just salads...it wasn't natural. She was sitting in a booth that was as far away from the windows as possible, her laptop in tow. It was like a fishy internet cafe...the fish part being the most prominent word in that description.
Jack felt his stomach rumble more when he stopped at Fishtales, yeah that was definitely what he was in the mood for. He opened the door for an elderly woman and followed her in, he waited in line just like everyone else, the place was a bit pack because of lunch rush. His eyes wandered over the people in the cafe for a moment, he liked to people watch sometimes. His eyes skimmed past a girl, then went back to her. Dark hair, bent over a laptop, she seemed to be completely enthralled with whatever was on her computer. He couldn't quite see all of her face, but she intrigued him all the same. Jack moved up in the line and had to tear his gaze away since it was his turn to order. "Uh I'll have a chicken basket, sweet tea to drink please. Yeah that's it," He spoke to the cashier. A pimple faced boy that looked to be about 15 years old. He felt bad for the guy and gave him a 5.00 tip to try and put a smile on poor boy's face. He then took his food and went over to a table close, but not too close, to the girl that had caught his upon entering.
Getting the feeling that someone was watching her Macen glanced up from her laptop and peered around for whoever it could be. No one. She must be getting paranoid, in her defense it was an easy thing to do when you were hiding from someone. Macen sighed running her hand through her hair as she looked around at her surroundings. The little fish and chips restaurant was picking up frequency in customers, and they were nearly out of tables. Macen had been done with her food for a while which the manager had certainly noticed; she always made sure to finish the greasy food before touching her computer to avoid getting her keys all oily. Great. That meant she would either have to order something else...or leave. Truthfully she would prefer the former, going home to her "happy" family was less appealing to her than eating fish. That was saying a ton. The line was nearly out the door at this time, so even if she did buy something else she would lose her table. Macen wasn't brave enough to leave her laptop to save the table, it was too valuable to her and if it got stolen there were things that she could never get back on it. Frowning she went over her options, there was a...bread store nearby Pan something or other, they didn't have wifi though. She went to fill up her soda, that would buy her some time...but not much.
Jack watched the girl get up, she seemed to be worried about something because she kept glancing between the table and the customers lined up out the door. A strange man tried to move the laptop off the table when she got up to get a drink. Jack cleared his throat loudly and stood up, "Sir I don't think she would like you touching her equipment." He said loudly, so that he drew attention. The man looked at him a bit angrily but put the girls laptop back in its spot. Jack was pretty sure he'd figured out why she had been looking around like that. He scooted his table a bit closer to hers so that he could watch it for her and no one could try and take her spot again. Well the nerve of some people honestly surprised him. He would never do that to a person's belongings. If the place is full then you move on to another restaurant or take the food home. You don't touch someone elses stuff, especially something so valuable. Jack was like a guard dog for the laptop until the girl got back.

Seemingly one of the best fish suppers in the country!
