Divination
Jacob leaned back in his chair, smelling the exotic fruity scent of the candles on the windowsills. He frowned down into the crystal ball on the table he was sitting at. All he could see was a load of mist...was he looking right? Jacob peered around the classroom. No. He was doing it right...all of the students were staring at their crystal balls with the same unsure expressions on their faces. He smiled a little, and squinted at the mist. If he shut one eye, the mist seemed to form into a sort of contorted shape... He opened his eyes, and realised it was because someone was standing behind the ball.
Artemis entered the Divination classroom, her tattered bookbag over her shoulder. She scanned the room for any familiar people. This was her first class since she had gotten out of the hospital wing that morning. Divination was one of her least favourite subjects...but not as bad as Herbology.
John walked into the classroom rolling his eyes.
And in walked the cause of his eye-rolling. Henry strided into the classroom, grinning, and took a seat next to Artemis.
Artemis smiled, her eyes sparkling.
"Henry," she said. "What have you done to John now?"
She glanced down at the teacup on their table.
"Tea leaves," she muttered to herself. "Not again."

Henry leaned over to her and whispered, "I might have hexed him in the corridors."
At Art's reproving, yet slightly amused, expression, Henry smirked.
"Only a little one." He shrugged, looking down at the cup. "Tea leaves, eh?"

Artemis looked down at her teacup glumly.
"Yeah," she said. "A little hex, hmm? Which one?"
She drank her tea. The hot, steamy drink didn't help with the stuffy atmosphere of the classroom. She quickly swilled the tealeaves with her left hand and dumped the cup upside down on a saucer.

He shrugged, but didn't comment, following Artemis' example with the teacup.
Artemis tapped the china cup with her wand, her mind wandering. She didn't seem to notice she was turning the cup purple.
She flipped the cup over again and opened her Tea-Leaf Symbol Almanac. She looked down into the dull brown swirls.
"How on earth," she said quietly, "can someone see the future in this?"

Henry looked thoughtful for a moment, looking over at her teacup. "The Grim!" he said in mock horror. He sat back in his chair and sighed. "I'm terribly sorry."
Artemis giggled.
"And what's that in your cup?" she said, picking up Henry's teacup. "Doom...danger...devastation...the teacher is going to love this one!"

Henry rolled his eyes.
"This class really is a joke. Can you really teach someone Divination?"
After reaching for the almanac, he leafed through it, and came to the symbol in his cup.
His brow furrowed. "Huh...you're right. Apparently I'm in mortal danger."

Artemis raised her eyebrows, looking at the page over his shoulder.
"Oh. So you are." There was a slightly awkward pause as they looked down at the teacup. "I wonder what sort of danger that would be?"
"I'm assuming the mortal kind," Henry said in amusement.

((Ahaha....you'd make a good Henry yourself!))
They chuckled to themselves. Firenze directed a harsh glare in their direction, that was, until he noticed Henry's teacup. He then looked at him with sympathy and went to check on the other students.
At this, Artemis laughed even harder.

By the end of the class, Henry and Artemis had managed to cease their laughter, and even managed to keep a relatively straight face once Firenze gave them a dream diary as homework.
"Divination," Artemis smiled as they left the classroom, "is by far the funniest class."
"And by funniest," Henry said, raising his eyebrows-
"-I mean it's a joke," Artemis finished.
They walked down the corridor. Artemis hadn't smiled so much in weeks, if not months. Of course, until she saw the time on the clock at the end of the hall.
"Oh no," Artemis said in horror. "I'm five minutes late for Arithmancy."
She gave Henry a quick smile of goodbye, then raced down the staircase, her curls streaming behind her as she ran.

Henry nodded goodbye before she rushed out of class.
Mortal danger. He snorted. Mortal nonsense, more like.

John was walking out of another class when he bumped into Henry.
"Watch it, Jackal!" Henry warned.
"Right, now I'll keep that in mind," he muttered sarcastically, brushing past the lad to get to his next class.
"A strange case indeed." John muttered loud enough for him to hear.
Artemis sat at a round table in the classroom, and looked down at the pile of white stones. Knucklebones. She groaned. They would be tossing knucklebones to see patterns in the ways they fell. She fiddled with her curls, green eyes dull with boredom.
Artemis heard him and peered over her shoulders.
"Good morning to you too, Andrade," she said in amusement.

Artemis rolled her eyes.
"You seem to think everyone is, don't you?" She tossed the knucklebones across the table. They clattered on the wood, rolling into a circular formation. Artemis looked at them with mild interest.

She paused.
"Wait. What did you call me?"
"Wait. What did you call me?"
Artemis gave a little smile and nodded.
"Y-yeah. Jones. That's right." She turned back to her table and looked down at the knucklebones, trying not to think about how Henry always called her Jones.

Peter picked up the bones not sure what to do with them. This class just seemed more useless by the second. He tapped them with his wand and they distenigrated. He gulped and shrunk down into his overly stuffed chair.
Artemis pulled her coat around her shoulders, trying to think in the stuffy room.

Peter turned around. " You think it's funny do you?" he said frowning and still holding his wand that looked much to large for him.
Artemis turned to the boy.
"Would you like help?" she said softly, resurrecting the bones with a tap of her wand.

" Yes please" he said looking at the bones disgusted. " This class is rather useless" he remarked dryly.
Artemis frowned slightly.
"It's important," she reminded him, showing the boy how to throw the bones and look up the symbols in the dictionary.

Peter glared at the older boy. " I think you're the one trying to be tough" he replied cooly and with far more wisdom than kid his age normally had. He turned back to Artemis,
Artemis turned sharply.
"Don't," she said to Victor. "Leave the kid alone."
"Don't," she said to Victor. "Leave the kid alone."

Peters grey/green eyes widened and he gulped but didn't lower his wand. The little boys hand shook as he tried to keep his fear under control.
Artemis frowned.
"Leave him alone," she repeated. "For your information, you're NOT at Durmstrang anymore. And don't think he'd be defenceless. Like I've told you, I can duel."

Peter was an easily manipulated child. He turned to Artemis and began to open his mouth to tell her he'd be fine
Artemis gave an ironic smile.
"I'm sure you have a hundred superior things to say," she said to Victor, "but this is a class, in case you haven't noticed. Threaten someone else, Andrade."
