I just finished Too Dark to Sleep by Dianne Gallagher. It is a thriller and wow. You can check out my review. It is a different main character and rather dark but really well written. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for the recommendation. When I first looked at it I read Diana Gabaldon, and I thought when did she write another book? I thought I had read all of hers. I have not, however read Dianne Gallagher.

I am going to suggest Captured Lies by Maggie Thom. It is a suspense, thriller. Really worth the effort to read it.

Noelle wrote: "Hi Maggie, is this a romance or just a thriller?"Hi Noelle, just a thriller. Real. Gritty. Not a romance. But a very good book if you're into thrillers/suspense.

If you love PRN books (Vamp) I highly recommend J.R. Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood Series or Jeaniene Frost Night Huntress Series

Thanks DorseyI recommend Lingerie Wars by Janet Elizabeth Henderson. If you want a good laugh you will really want to read this one. I haven't finished it yet, but I CANNOT put it down.
If you like PNR with humor and (a lot) of steam, just about anything by DanaMarie Bell works. I particularly like the Gray Court, and I'm not a fan of stories about the the fae.

I just finished Robyn Carr's latest, and I think it may be, of her books I've read, her best. I've read all of her Virgin River and a couple of her others, but this second one in her Thunder Point series is filled with believable characters who face very "real" problems.

I finished Tainted Waters, by our Maggie Thom. A really good read. The beginning of the book skips around a bunch, but at least for me, when I was getting frustrated it all started coming together and WHAT A GOOD BOOK!

Thanks to Dorsey, Jazz, and a few others I have started reading the Brotherhood of the Dagger series by JR Ward. It is really great!

There is a lot going on but it does all come together by the end of the story. I appreciate your reading it. :)
Since reading Amazing...Bird Tales I was wondering if any of you can point me in the direction of other animal stories. This type of story really lifts my spirit.

DeeDid you ever go to Amazon and type in Animal Stories on their search engine,I`d like to do that but I`m always afraid I`ll get a really sad one.I can`t watch much of Animal Planet because I can`t stand seeing animals hurt and they have to many with that for my taste.
Thanks Kathy Anne, That is a good idea, no I never thought about it. I think if I look at the synopsis you can get an idea if they are sad or not. I also can't stand sad endings.

AnitaThanks for posting another good book,I will order this too and read my brains out I`ll be so happy to get something good for a change.
I also ordered A Sudden Light,it`s about a couple on the verge of divorce who have lost all their money and try to get Grampa to sell the huge family estate so he & his sister can start over but Gramps and the ghosts who occupy it with him say NOT.I love Ghost stories and this one does have some humor too

Untrue Colors was a really good book. Unfortunately, not all the ARC's are good. The last one I read was bad. Really, really bad. His Last Redemption My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I love the idea of A Sudden Light I will have to check it out. and I have to remember NOT to look for His Last Redemption, I love this thread. It really helps us find good books and to avoid bad ones.

. It is a continuation of her Ice series. If you have never read any of her books, don't worry, it works very well as a standalone.

Thanks Anita. I do love her Ice Series. Originally, I thought the Ice series was a trilogy, but I guess not. I know I read the first three. I will look for that one. I just bought Cat's Lair

Yeah, you are correct. I misspoke, the Fire series is more spin off than a continuation. Great books with imperfect anti-heros. I really like her books.

Even Anne Stuart's older works have the imperfect anti-heros. I personally love them. I just finished an oldie of hers that has been re-issued. The Houseparty

Really liked: Blue Hollow Falls. It is the first in Donna Kauffman's new series. Setting: rural West Virginia & a bit of DC. Sawyer is the retired Special Forces hero and Sunny works for the US Botanical Gardens and is a thoughtful heroine. The secondary characters are excellent.
