Ophelia was in the library with a book filled with Shakespeare's collected works in it. Most people make fun of her name, always comparing her to the Ophelia from one of Shakespeare's very own plays, and it was fun at first but now it was tiresome whenever someone pointed it out. Yes, she gets it, now stop it. Moreover, her mother named her Ophelia because Hamlet was her favorite play back in high school --yeah, she hated hearing that story too. Sighing softly, she shuffled to Much Ado About Nothing, personally one of her favorites --not that she was ever going to name any of her children after the character's in the play. Nope, not happening. Smiling to herself, she leaned back in her chair and began reading over the play, hoping the director of the school's drama class would chose this play over the cliche Romeo and Juliet one most tend to choose. While she has nothing against that play, Ophelia wasn't ready to play Juliet for the fourth time in her life.
((Hey, I know you guys are rping Ophelia and Brandon, but would you mind if Antonio came in and was like watching them from afar
Antonio came into the library and blew out a gusty sigh, holding his summer reading list by two fingers. He was looking for The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare. Yeah, it had technically been assigned over the summer, but Tony had read three of the four works on the list. The Taming of the Shrew was the only one he hadn't gotten around to. He figured he could skim it that day and be ready for Languages and Literature class tomorrow.Tony was heading over to the Shakespeare section when a dark lock of hair caught his eye from a chair not too far away. Was that... Ophelia? A glance out of the corner of his eye told him that it was. Tony looked around the library, wondering if he could risk going up to her and striking up a conversation. There wasn't anybody nearby, but it seemed kind of risky in such a public place. Darn it. Antonio really wanted to talk to her about last night. He wanted to know who had seen them in the gazebo. Well. He went over to the Shakespeare shelf and selected The Taming of the Shrew, lingering there for longer than was necessary. If Ophelia thought it was worth the risk, she could come talk to him.
Jae wandered into the library. He paused at the door, inhaling deeply and taking in the sight of so many books. He didn't know why he was inhaling deeply - the library didn't smell any different than the rest of the school. Kale Ivy was extremely clean, and of course there would be no dust on the books. Anyway, Jae was glad to be back in his element, after the hectic, awkward dance last night. He had managed to bump into three people total. Which wasn't as bad as last year, he supposed. Last year he'd bumped into five, and spilled punch all over a girl whom he didn't even know. Come to think of it, his clumsiness was probably a reason why he was often the target of pranks.Anyway. Jae told his feet to start moving again, bringing him over to the psychology section. He had always been interested in psychology, even if it wasn't his absolute best subject. He enjoyed knowing what made people tick. Unfortunately, for all the theories he knew about human behavior, his actual behavior around other humans hadn't improved. Maybe Jae read about psychology with a subconscious desire to become less socially awkward. Who knew?
(Before I write my reply, would it be alright if she ended up falling like not onto him, but right into his arms? I think I'd be pretty funny, and she's small so he could probably manage to hold her...)
Endellion, due to her small stature, often found herself irritated at the library's layout. In order to store as many books as possible, the shelves were unfathomably high, providing only ladders as a means of retrieving some of the generally neglected higher up books. Of course, generally Endellion wouldn't mind too too much, as the library tended to be near spotless, at least at the beginning of the year. However, now, slightly higher up on the ladder than usual, Endellion found herself spotting a few webs here and there, and she was starting to feel rather terrified of seeing an actual spider... It was rather ironic really, she was in the psychology section searching for a book on curing phobias, and here she was, painfully aware that her own phobia was providing quite the barricade for her.As the universe would have it, when Endellion did finally find the book she'd set her sights on, reaching for it caused her to spot a larger-than-usual black spider. This then caused her to emit a quiet shriek and loose her grip on the ladder. From there she plummeted down, though, seeing as the world wasn't overly cruel, instead of hitting the ground she fell into the hands of a rather attractive guy, one that she immediately recognized as being the one she'd met at the dance last night. With an embarrassed flush she met his gaze, "Hello..."
A body fell from the sky and landed in Jae's arms, knocking the Social Interactions (by Martin Gomez, PhD) book out of his hands. He stumbled a little, startled, but the person who had just dropped from above was small and light, and he was able to recover fairly quickly. Jae blinked and looked down at the girl whom he was now holding. It was Endellion, the girl he had bumped into at the refreshment table last night. "Um. Hi," Jae said. He glanced upwards and saw a ladder right next to him, which must have been where she'd fallen from. He then looked down at the floor, searching for the book he had dropped, and found that Endellion's body was obstructing his view of the ground. Which meant that he was still holding her."Hi," he said again. Jae flushed and set Endellion on her feet. "Are you alright?" he asked her. He located his book, which had fallen neatly and was lying on the ground as if someone had put it there on purpose instead of it being knocked less-than-ceremoniously onto the floor. But there was a person standing next to him now. Jae tore his mind off of the book and turned back to Endellion. "That was a high place to fall from," he observed, in an attempt to lighten the mood. Unfortunately, he had just stated the obvious, and it wasn't the smoothest way to start a conversation.
"I'm fine... There was... Um... A spider so, um... I kind of freaked out. Sorry," Endellion apologized, looking rather sheepish. She generally didn't like to admit her fear of spiders, and was sure to never let them know just how bad it was. After all, knowing her peers, chances were that someone would use that fear to her advantage. Overall though, she had managed to avoid such a situation, seeing as most people didn't really notice her too often. Sure, when it suited them and they needed help in Biology, they suddenly considered her their best friends, but other than that she just cared too little about the competition for them to care about her presence. Still, she wouldn't put it past them to prank her just to spite the Blue Torches sometime, particularly the Black Gavels. There were quite a few ruthless people on that team, but that didn't stop there from being some pretty nice, and attractive, people such as Jae.(Oh mi gosh, wouldn't it be interesting if Jae accidentally let one of his teammates know that Endellion hates spiders and they used it in a prank against her? Or maybe it wasn't Jae, but she assumes it was and hates him for a bit?)
((I can imagine Jae accidentally letting that slip! And then realizing it was a mistake and trying to cover it up awkwardly... *puts on list for later*))"Oh. Spiders. Strange creatures. It's fine. Don't worry about it." Jae looked up again, looking for a spider. Seeing none, he picked up the Social Interactions book. Maybe if he touched it enough, the information in it would work its way into his personality. His mind was working furiously, trying to think of a less awkward conversation starter. "What brings you to the library?" he finally came up with. There wasn't often cause for a student to come to the library on the first day, unless they were trying to finish their summer reading or something.
(Should we share that in PYP?)"Honestly? That book about phobias up there..." Endellion admitted, pointing up at a rather large, coffee-colored, bland-looking book quite a few shelves up. "Um, seeing as you're so much taller than I am, is there a chance you could get it for me?" she asked hopefully, feeling rather abashed as she stared down at her shoes. It wasn't often that she truly let her height get to her, but in this case, she supposed there was little else she could do but ask for assistance. At least Jae was here, it seemed like a better idea for her to ask someone she knew for help rather than a stranger, and none of her usual companions were currently here, which was actually quite unusual considering Hayden did love the library likely more than Endellion herself did.
"Sure." Jae reshelved his Social Interactions book. He had rahter lost the mood to read about improving his social standings - after all, here was someone to talk to, so he could practice in real life. The book was pretty high up, and Jae had to climb a couple of rungs on the ladder to reach it. He saw no spiders, but the one Endellion had seen was probably gone by now. He got back down to the ground and inspected the book. It really didn't look very interesting. Then again, Jae himself didn't have any phobias (that he knew of), so he had never paid it much attention. Jae opened the book and flipped to the arachnophobia page, then presented it to Endellion. ((Sure))
"Thank you," Endellion told him, flushing slightly at the fact that he opened to the page she needed. Then, figuring it would be rude to simply leave and start reading, she slipped in a plain bookmark she kept in her pocket and pressed the book to her chest. "So what where you looking to read?" she asked him, curious, as well as eager to change the subject. Jae didn't quite seem like the psychology type, if there was such a thing, yet here he was. Then again, maybe like herself, he had his own semi-personal reasons.
"Um." Jae contemplated how to answer that question. He decided to put it bluntly. "Social interactions," he said, "because my social interactions aren't generally smooth." This was an understatement, probably, since most of his social interactions began bumping into someone. Or spilling a drink on someone. Especially if there happened to be a lot of people around to witness his social clumsiness. "Also," he continued, not wanting Endellion to think he meant he didn't want to socialize right then, "I just like psychology. I like any subject, really, but psychology interests me. I like knowing what makes people think certain things and do things and... yeah," Jae finished lamely. He looked closely at Endellion, wondering if she cared at all about his interest in psychology.
Endellion considered this for a few seconds before responding, "well, I can't honestly say I know too much about psychology. I know more about botany and zoology, and a bit about human anatomy as well." Psychology... She couldn't say it was her favorite science, but she definitely didn't hate it. It had it's uses, but she probably wouldn't study it just for the fun of it. "If you're looking for a book about social interactions though, I did a report about a similar topic last year, and skimmed most of the books on this shelf..." she continued, her eyes darting across the books of the shelf that he'd previously chosen Social Interactions from. Then she pulled off something entitled Psychology: A User Friendly Guide, a collaborative work of several fairly well known psychologists. "I found this one was a good deal less dreary to read than most," she told him, holding out the book.
Lucas walked through the library doors. As always, a camera was around his neck. Today he had been feeling the Polaroid and that was the camera which rested against his chest. He dressed as he always did, black pants, a button down shirt (today it was a light green) and loafers. Along with the camera there was also a book with him. Undoubtedly, most would suspect that it were a Sherlock Holmes book. And more often than once they would be correct. But today it was just some random book his had pulled out to work on a project. It was a diorama of sorts. But he still had some other work to do before he could complete this one.
Out of the corner of her eye, Ophelia noticed Antonio, but it was it wasn't the right time or place to go over to talk to him, though she desperately wanted to just to tell him that what happened the night before meant nothing to her. Basil meant nothing to her. But the library wasn't a good place to talk, well not while they were out there in the open like that. Too many people could see them. After last night, Ophelia wanted to be as careful as possible. No, she needed to be careful. Much more careful. Returning her attention to the play she was reading, she smiled a little at some of the things that were being said between two of the characters. So the girl stayed seated at the table alone, flipping through the play as if it was something much more than just a play.
@Avalon"Oh, are you into biology?" Jae asked. Biology wasn't his favorite subject, but, unsurprisingly, he was good in it. He felt a ping of pride within himself to be actually talking to someone - and a girl, no less, who was also pretty - and getting to know things about her. Like her favorite sciences. It's a start, Jae told himself, and wondered briefly if holding Social Interactions really ad assorted some of its information Ito his personality. But Endellion was still talking. He looked down at the book she had just put into his hands. 'Psychology: A User Friendly Guide' the cover read in bright, aesthetically pleasing letters. "Thanks," Jae said appreciatively. This book did look quite a it more interesting than Social Interactions.
@Sevania"Well my mother's a neurosurgeon and my brother's a botanist, so I have to show some appreciation for the subject. Personally, I love zoology. Honestly, I'm well versed in most areas of science, and at least adept at most subjects, except, well, history," Endellion admitted, slightly irritated with herself. However, there was little she could do considering the subject just seemed like absolute drivel to her most of the time. It wasn't as if the teacher attempted make it engaging or anything either. Needless to say, she obviously didn't have as high grades in that class as her others, and this year she needed to fix that.

Basil had been sitting there in the library for a while, but nothing had really piked his interest. Not until he saw Ophelia, that is... something about her was interesting to him, it was like she was hiding a secret, and he really wanted to know what it was. But if he knew, it wouldn't be as special. He smiled down at his book, flipping to the page where he'd wrote about their dance. You know what would go great with the description? A sketch.
Dropping down into the seat next to hers, Basil leaned over into her space, brushing his leg against hers by accident. "Whatcha' reading?" he asked, eyes flickering to meet his gaze.

Ophelia was a little too into the play that she didn't notice Basil there until she felt his leg brush against hers. When he leaned into her space it was enough for her to jump a little and look over at him. He was the last person she suspected would come over to sit beside her, though she figured it was because he wanted something. "Thank you for giving me a heart attack, Basil," she muttered sarcastically, raising her eyes to meet his. The image of her dancing with him flashed to the forefront of her mind. "Much Ado About Nothing," she said in response to his question. "I'm rereading it in case the drama teacher picks this one for our first place. Then again I'm just hoping that he picks anything but Romeo and Juliet." Sitting back in her chair as relaxed as possible, she smiled at him in amusement. "Now, is there something I can do for you, Basil?"

Had he expected her to be that surprised, Basil probably would have made his approach more known. But really, how else could someone make a sudden appearance that obvious? It was a library for crying out loud, you could practically hear the closest fifteen people's breathing. Maybe she was just a little invested in her... he glanced down at the open page, wrinkling his nose. He'd bever liked plays, every single thing he'd read in literature class made him want to gauge his eyes out, so to him? Yeah... he kind of felt cheated. It's like the teachers picked the worst pieces and then shoved them down kid's throats to make them hate reading. It's not that he harbored any particular dislike to books... but plays? He didn't even like watching them.
"If the kids got to pick the play, I'm sure it would at least be tolerable." he remarked quietly, leaning back in his own chair--mimicking her posture without meaning to. Basil caught her smile and his lips upturned in response, "Actually, I just wanted your company. Is that so bad?" he asked innocently. Of course he wanted something out of it... but whose to say he wasn't already getting it?

"Tolerable? You have something against plays, Basil?" she asked, tilting her head a little. Ophelia wasn't blind, she noticed his reaction when he realized what she was reading. "If all the wannabes in that class has a say, we would be doing something incredibly boring," she sighed, shaking her head. While it may seem like nothing more than a silly school play to some, acting was Ophelia's life. No, not TV show acting, or even acting for movies, but acting on a stage with an actual audience there watching her. Being under an actual spotlight that was the sort of life she loved. It wasn't as if she wrote off TV shows or even movies, seeing how she already has been in a few of both, but she didn't enjoy acting in them as much. A personal preference if you may."You just want to sit with me?" Ophelia sounded way but shrugged. She hardly believed that he just wanted to spend time with her, but as Antonio was there, at least now she has someone to keep her back from making a stupid move. "No I guess not. It's strange but not necessarily bad."

"I don't have anything against a play if you're staring in it." he remarked, flashing his teeth in a smile. Of course that was just Basil's way of confirming that he did have a problem with plays... though he was strategic about not admitting it. Though he would probably be inclined to watch Ophelia preform in something, it seemed like something he'd like to make fun of her for later. He ran a hand through his hair, tappping his other hand ontop of the leather-bound book placed in his lap.
Basil wasn't sure if he wanted to just sit there, he kind of wanted to draw her, but he figured she'd be curious and he didn't want to betray anything. So the best he could do was study her features now and hoped he got it right later. "Not necesssarily, hmmm?" he mimicked, twisting the tone.

"You probably haven't seen anything that I've been in," Ophelia sighed. She crossed her arms over her chest as she looked Basil over, curious as to why he was there, but guessed she wouldn't figure it out any time soon. Honestly, she sort of enjoyed his company, it was fun, and it provided to be a good distraction. "It's okay if you don't like plays, Basil. I won't exactly rip your throat out if you haven't. Just because I'm a drama nut doesn't mean everyone has to be." Turning her gaze back to the play, she read another few lines, brushing a stray piece of black hair back out of her face. "Well I mean it's not as if we really hung out a ton before. Now I get graced with your presence at the dance and again here, in the library." Her bright blue-green eyes flickered over to Basil again, a hint of a grin ghosting on her lips. "Two days in a row. I feel rather special. Though I'm not sure what the second meeting means. Perhaps I'm growing on you."

So what if he hadn't? Ophelia had talent, he wouldn't ever deny that. If she was reading plays on her down time just because there was a chance the teacher might choose that? Yeah, she had talent. And if she didn't, she made up for it with her drive. Either way, it was something to be admired. So maybe Basil was just admiring her for it. Maybe? Maybe not?
"Aren't friends supposed to care about what their friends care about? Or at least give it a shot or something like that?" he asked, leaning back further in his chair. Basil wasn't suggesting they were friends, he was merely playing around with the idea. In truth, he figured... why not? They were on the same team, she was interesting... there really wasn't anything stopping them. "Perhaps." he repeated, smiling to himself as he let his eyes drag along the rest of the faces in the library.

Ophelia gave up on trying to finish reading the play, though she still has a couple more acts to go. Mentally saving her place, she decided to give Basil her full attention for now. Leaning back casually in her seat again, she turned a little so that she was facing him. Pursing her lips, Ophelia thought over what he said about friends. Never actually having real friends growing up the way she did, it was hard for her to really say much on the subject matter."I would assume so," she drawled, sounding unsure. The acting industry doesn't leave much room for friends. "So hypothetically, if we were to become friends, you would take an interest in plays. Maybe even watch one with me, or watch one with me in it?" Ophelia figured that maybe Basil would make a good friend. He wasn't that bad of a guy, or a bad guy really. Then again he was one her team and she tended to think better of her own teammates. Now very curious about him, she asked, "What do you care about, Basil?"
@AvalonJae nodded earnestly as Endellion talked. What she was saying was interesting, it really was. And a neurosurgeon - that was impressive. Jae's parents told him he would make an excellent doctor, seeing as he was "brilliant" and all, but Jae didn't think that line of work really called to him. Anyway. "I could tutor you," he blurted out when Endellion talked about her weakness being history. "In history. I mean, I'm a tutor. And I, um, like tutoring. People. And I could tutor you. If you wanted." Okay, so, it wasn't the smoothest offer he had ever made (did he ever make smooth offers?) but Jae was pretty sure he'd gotten his point across. Well, for the most part sure. He sighed inwardly at his own social awkwardness and looked down at the book in his hands. Maybe 'Psychology: A User Friendly Guide' could find some hope in him.
Ophelia didn't come over to talk to Antonio. He was disappointed, but she'd probably had the same thought process as he had, ending in "it's too risky". Nevertheless, he stood by the Shakespeare shelf, pretending to thumb through The Taming of the Shrew and just enjoying being near her. Then he heard another voice, a male voice, and Ophelia answering it. He dared a glance up and saw Basil, the guy who she had been dancing with last night. Basil, who was a Black Gavel like Ophelia and most definitely more qualified than Antonio was to talk to her. Tony didn't like Basil at all. It's not like he even had a reason to dislike him, other than Basil was talking to the girlfriend that nobody knew Tony had. But that's how jealousy works, he supposed.

@Cheryl
Basil smiled when his eyes flashed back to meet hers, "Hypothetically, yes." He wasn't kidding. If him and Ophelia became friends, he would for sure go see a play with her. He wasn't sure if he would prefer her being in it though... it was a hard choice. If she was in it, he wouldn't have anyone to sit by, and he'd be kinda' lonely. If she went to see a play with him, he probably would be checking her facial expressions rather than watch the play, and she might just find that annoying. He wouldn't try to talk to her during the play or anything, that would probably cross a line. He might just laugh at the wrong parts though.
Ignoring his inner monologue of potential situations he'd be putting himself through, Basil grinned--shooting her a cocky sidelong glance tipped over the edge with his infamous smirk. "I care about a lot of things. It's just a matter of figuring it out."

"In return, hypothetically, I would. . . come and watch one of your lacrosse games." Once again Ophelia sounded unsure, but she guessed that would be the right thing to say. "You are part of the lacrosse team, right?" Ophelia hasn't actually gone to a sport/game thing in a while. She never really understood the appeal in it since it was all so violent, plus she preferred being on a stage or in a theater seat instead of outside on some field, watching people getting hurt and all that wonderful stuff. Looking Basil over, she wondered how good of a player he was if he actually played the sport. She wondered what it would be like to watch him on the field, running around, scoring goals -- whatever lacrosse players did. Then she began to wonder if she was supposed to cheer him on even if he wasn't doing so well on the field.Pulling herself out of her thoughts for a moment, Ophelia grinned slightly in response to his smirk. "Sounds like a challenge," she murmured. This was starting to get a little too fun, sending red flags up in her head as Tony was still there, and no doubt unhappy about seeing her with Basil. Again.

Making a face, Basil had to stifle his laughter. The way she said lacrosse made it hyper-aware she liked the sport just about as much as he liked plays. She probably knew little to nothing about it, besides the general idea. Balls, sticks, a field. Whereas for plays? Maybe he didn't know as much as he thought he did. She probably put a lot more work into it than he anticipated, just like lacrosse was a lot of work for him. Practices and all that jazz... did you have to practice for plays? Maybe they could actually learn things from each other here.
"Yeah, lacrosse kind of owns me." he glanced at the table, averting his gaze. Basil was kind of embarrassed all of the sudden. The idea of her watching him play? It made his palms sweat. He got nervous without any kind of encouragement, seeing her there would probably cause him to miss any type of thing coming in his direction.
"That sounded like you were accepting the challenge." he remarked, pulling his gaze back up to meet hers. "Friends?"

"Sort of like acting owns me," Ophelia said, her brows furrowed, "I think." She smiled sheepishly, feeling her cheeks heat up a tad as she shrugged her shoulders as if it was no big deal. Thinking it over, she wondered if being his friend would be a good thing. She knew that Tony wouldn't be a big fan of the idea but it wasn't as if she was in love with Basil, they were just going to be friends. Moreover, Basil would be a good cover-up so that no one would really catch on what was going on between her and Tony. Yes, this might just work out. Plus no harm in acquiring a friend, especially one from her own team. Who knows how this would turn out. Ophelia was ready to take that chance. Turning her gaze to meet his again, she sighed, "Hmm. I do enjoy a good challenge." Then she looked as if she was thinking it over carefully before finally nodding her head. "Friends."
"So, do we shake on it? Hug? Suddenly start hanging out twenty-four-seven?" she asked amusedly.
@Sevania"I'd like that," Endellion smiled, before adding, "we should also just hang out sometime. You seem like an interesting person, and I'd love to get to know you." Honestly she was starting to wonder why she'd never considered socializing with Jae earlier. He was intelligent, had a friendly personality, and wasn't obsessively competitive, unlike some people. So long as their teams didn't decide to murder them for not going along with their shenanigans, it seemed like a friendship between the two of them wasn't unlikely. Of course she doubted the Blue Torches would care, she was pretty much invisible unless either she didn't want to be, which was rarely, or someone needed her expertise, which was scarcer yet.

Basil wasn't sure how to asses the emotions that went through him when she confirmed their new friendship. He was relieved, since he was actually beginning to enjoy her presence. But he was also kind of nervous... what if he wasn't a good enough friend to her? There was a reason he pulled back into his own little world where no one else existed, Basil didn't play well with others. Especially when you put a title to the relationship you had together. Not that friendship was all that serious. No reason to panic now. No. No reason. Right?
At her joking question, Basil flinched. "How 'bout we just eat lunch together and work on from there?" he suggested, a half smile allotting his features. Maybe lunch was already moving to fast? Meh. He really didn't know what to do here. All he knew was that if he didn't get to write all of this out, it was going to continue to bother him for the foreseeable future.
There was on thing though, before he left. "Here." he paused, sliding her book over to him to scrawl something into the margin. "Text me later, that way I'll have your number, too."

He really didn't know what to do here. All he knew was that if he didn't get to write all of this out, it was going to continue to bother him for the foreseeable future.

Ophelia tilted her head slightly whe she noticed something seemed off about Basil now. She couldn't really put her finger on it, but this made her worried since she was sure he was going to try to back out of it now. After all, who would actually want to be friends with the drama freak? When she wasn't on the stage rehearsing, she was in her room practicing her lines, reading different plays, or going over scripts her agent sent her. The only perks to being friends with Ophelia would be the movie premiers she was constantly invited to attend, and award shows. Aside from that, she wasn't sure who would want to be friends with her. She certainly wouldn't blame Basil if he decided she wasn't worth it after all."Lunch sounds nice," she replied, nodding her head. Though she paused, thinking about Tony, but figured he would understand that lunch with Basil was nothing more than that. Just lunch between two friends. Yep, nothing wrong there. "Today?" she asked, unsure if this was to start that day or some other day, later in the week.
Ophelia blinked. She watched Basil write his number in the margin of the book, eyes slightly wide. "...Basil...that book isn't mine," she mumbled, "that's the library's copy..."

Basil gathered his bearings and stood, running a hand through his hair as he tucked his book under his arm. He paused though at her question. Should he get used to the idea of being her friend, or should he just dive right in? He wasn't sure. What harm could it do though, really? "Yeah, sure. If you can't find me, text. I'll have my phone on me, just for you." he smiled at the later part, only teasing.
"Relax, Ophelia. I swear, no one else in their right mind is going to read that play." he consoled her, shaking his head as he walked away. He'd known it was the Library's book when he'd written in it. That was part of the fun. If he got any weird texts or calls that weren't from Ophelia, the worse case scenario was he'd have to rip the page out... like five years later, when someone else actually picked up that treacherous thing.

Ophelia watched Basil leave. She was partially amused but horrified he wrote in the book in the first place. Plus she sort of wanted to smack him in the head for his last comment. Couldn't he have been normal and just wrote on her hand instead, or maybe even a piece of paper? There was that journal he always carried around with him, so why couldn't he have taken a page from that? What was she thinking? Basil wasn't really all that normal in the first place. No one at this school was normal. Yeah, so it was a silly thing to freak out about, but still, not only was it the Library's book, it was one of her favorite books. However, she sighed as she closed the book, got up and left as well, checking the book out of the library as well. Maybe she would buy the book off the librarian, or replace it.
@Avalon"Hang out. Sometime." Jae felt a wide, stupid grin spreading on his face. A girl had just suggested they hang out! Together! For Jae, that was practically a date, seeing as he never socialized with girls except to tutor them. And that was totally different. "I'd love to get to know you, too. And also tutor you," he told Endellion earnestly. He tried to quit grinning so hard, but it was difficult to contain his excitement, and Jae ended up with a weird grimace on his face. Maybe that was one of the reasons no girl had ever had social interest in him. He made weird faces at them.
Basil passed by the psychology section on way to the door, followed shortly by Ophelia, both of whom were on Jae's team. Neither seemed to notice Jae and Endellion, but their passing was enough to make Jae aware of the fact that two people from teams that were supposed to be rivals were having a friendly conversation, and his silly expression dropped off his face. He studied Endellion, not in a critical or perverted way, but an honest, open stare, wondering if a friendship (or maybe more? He didn't dare hope) between the two of them would work out. Jae knew that neither he nor Endellion took to team rivalry thing very seriously, but there were some people who did, and those were the people with all the power. He thought back to the glares shot at them multiple times last night at the dance. Ah, well. Socializing was risky business. Jae could only hope it would turn out worthwhile.
Antonio watched Ophelia go. Subtly, of course, but he watched nonetheless. He wanted to run after her - the more he saw her the more he needed to talk to her - but there were still people in the library. It was still too risky. For the thousandth time, he cursed the team rivalry in his head. Antonio put The Taming of the Shrew back on its shelf. No, he wasn't done with it, but all the Shakespearean language confused him, and the story seemed kind of boring. Besides, he had other, more pressing matters at hand. Surely his English teacher would understand. Not. He pushed school - and his surely failing grades - out of his mind for the moment and, hesitating only a moment, followed Ophelia at a distance out of the library.
(I think I shall reply when I have a real computer if you don't mind waiting till the 12th, Sevania.)
(Thanks, I just want to give this a true and proper response, and that requires a proper laptop or computer.)

After today's events, Lydia thought the best idea would be to find some peace and quiet in the library. It was one of her free periods, and hell if she was going to go through that nasty long lunch line. That's what skipping 5th period was for. Most people wouldn't think they'd find her here... being that it was a library--but contrary to popular belief, Lydia has always liked reading. She just doesn't read the typical teenage favored books. She strictly keeps it to the educational types of books... not the fandom fangirly ones, no no no.
Lydia soon found herself in the autobiography section, eyes skimming over the titles. It was pretty much all she could do back here, it was the most deserted section of the library. Really. Who else besides her would go back here for books? It was like the dead zone unless you had Mr. Carver... he just loved assigning iSearch papers up the ass.

Stiles entered the library tiredly. It's been a long day to say the least. He wasn't entirely sure why he was in three AP classes, but he was and he was really really hating it. First day and he already has two essays due by the end of the week. Yeah as if that's going to happen. Strolling around, Stiles looked for a few books that he needed, but never having been in a library that much before, he wasn't entirely sure where to begin. The library wasn't his friend. The internet was. But the guy figured that since it was a new school, a sorta new start for him that he may as well try to do it this way. After a few more minutes, Stiles happened upon the autobiography section, which was practically empty, which meant he was going to move on until he spotted a certain girl with redhair. As casually as possible, he craned his neck, looking around to make sure not too many people were watching before he "nonchalantly" walked down the aisle. He paused and acted like he really was looking for a book, even going as far as to reach out and pick one up, but it was heavier than he thought it would be, so it ended up slipping out of his grasp and landing on the ground with a thud.

Okay, he was so not as stealthy as he believed himself to be. You couldn't be quiet if you shuffled your feet like a toddler T-rex. Lydia had noticed him before he had even seen her, she could have tried to run away, but she was no coward. And besides, there was a good chance he wouldn't try to talk to her--it was a library after all. So she continued to stand near a shelf, tilting her head to the side was her eyes still skimmed the titles--allowing her hair to fall over the opposite shoulder. She didn't see anything that piked her interest. Maybe though, it was because her interests lay somewhere else.
Lydia glanced at Stiles over her shoulder, barely turning her head... she kinda' wanted to see what he would do. Maybe he would sneak up on her, try to be cute or something. Lydia smiled to herself... yeah, that would be something he'd try. He'd try to touch her waist or something and hug her from behind, but he'd trip on his denim jeans and he'd accidentally grope her or something--then his face would get unbelievable red and he'd stare at her speechlessly, mouth bobbing with no words to explain his actions. Yeah - cute.
Though Lydia couldn't pretend she didn't hear him if he continued to throw books around. She knew he wasn't coordinated, but really? It was like a five pound book. How could one do so much damage in such a simple fashion? "Stiles?" she asked, throwing in an eye roll for good measure. "What, are you stalking me now?"

Stiles had tried to stop the book from falling but only ended up making three more fall off the shelf in the process. He took a step back, rubbing the back of his neck as his cheeks warmed considerably, hoping --more like praying-- that Lydia hadn't see his moment of idiocy. Then again she has seen just about every single clumsy moment of his over the years . . . Actually he still remembered that she even once asked him how he was still even a live due to the fact that gravity was certainly not a friend of his. Though when she noticed him, Stiles smiled nervously before looking down at the books. Yeah she obviously has noticed that but he could always live in the blissful ignorance a little while longer. At her question, he turned his gaze back to her and scoffed. "Sadly to say that is the one activity I have not picked up," he replied sarcastically. Yeah right, if Stiles herd Lydia was somewhere, he would run off to that place in under five minutes just to see her and possibly talk to her. Maybe that was sort of stalkerish, but everyone has a little stalker in them. Right?
Trying to be cool, Stiles leaned against a bookshelf and rested an elbow on a shelf, but that was yet again a fail. Stiles was not meant to be cool. He never had a 'cool' moment in his life. Basically, his elbow slipped, causing a couple more books to fall to the ground, and he managed to hit his head as he went fall to the ground as well. Thankfully the bookshelf didn't fall over too.
Stefan had gotten a text from Lydia a little while ago telling him to meet her in the library. Odd, because the library isn't really meant for talking at all really. But Lydia asked to meet up and Stefan obliged. They had been on and off since freshman year. It was never extremely serious. Lydia was a lot of fun to hang out with and talk to, if you caught her at the right time that is. After a quick search in the library Stefan finally found her. He didn't notice Stiles right away since he was basically on the ground. Coming up beside her Stefan placed a quick kiss to her temple. Then he noticed what- or well who she was looking at with a little bit of shock and amusement.
"So that's what the big crash was I suppose." Stefan said just to fill the silence that was to be expected in a library but now it was just awkward. Being the nice guy Stefan stepped forward and offered his hand to help Stiles up.
