What's On Your Currently Reading List?
Currently I'm reading Les Miserables vol. 1. It's dead boring, but indeed very good. I will probably keep reading something else in between, seeing as I got ten pages out of Les Mis today, and then I got bored.
I am reading Sweet Peril and it is amazing, fantastic, exciting, magnificent. I am going to be sad when I reach the last page

Where you were probably needed but had to seat and watch people sing the same songs for hours. I could definitely empathize when you say it is boring. I would give it thumbs up a story plot though

One line, but I had to be there every day. But whatever.
Anyway, I absolutely adore the musical and the movie to bits, and I'm sure it's a splendid book, but Hugo could have shortened it by half by cutting out half of his adjectives and adverbs.
I'm reading The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver. It is so good, but I'm only a few chapters in. Oh my goodness, Jessica, The Things They Carried is one of my favorites. I loved that.

I can see why; its pretty good so far. :)

The Last OlympianOH MY GOD I've missed Rick Riordans hilarious writing. I'm laughing, even though this book is full of doomsday. I'm just... asasghgsffsfh. Yes. Reasoning is good. Anyway. I'll probably need to own all the Rick Riordan books after this. Hopefully the one about Norse mythology will come out soon, because Thor...
Only thing I don't like: This book does not match the cover of the rest of the series. And cover art is important. And the same height in books, so I can stack series on top of each other.
Asch's Anti-Paradigm (JennTheAwesum) wrote: "OMG I LOVE THAT FLIPPIN BOOK."I just. Don't have enough words. I thought I was over the whole teen/YA-thing I had going on with fantasty and stuff. BUT THIS IS AWESOME. Currently ordering The Lost Hero. I hope the online store will send the right cover edition though.
Asch's Anti-Paradigm (JennTheAwesum) wrote: "I hope u like it. I didnt enjoy The Lost Hero nearly as much as the Percy Jackson books."Hm, maybe I should wait with the order then... They didn't have the coverart I wanted either. Aaargh, I have three books in my shopping basket, but with four I get free shipping, and that's amazing. But I don't know what to buuuy

I'm reading The Vision by Jessica Sorenson since it has always been my secret obsession with violet eyes ^.^ I hate the male protagonist so far but I like the female lead. I also want to start reading Angelfall ASAP
Mary wrote: "I just finished reading "It's Kind of a Funny Story" a minute ago and am going to begin "Little Bee" by Chris Cleave. I hope it's good :)"
How was It's Kind of A Funny Story? It's on my to-read list.

Ayomide wrote: "I am reading Sweet Peril and it is amazing, fantastic, exciting, magnificent. I am going to be sad when I reach the last page"I want to read Sweet Evil. Is it good?
Mary wrote: "No I have this thing... I just cannot watch a movie before I read the book! Are a lot of people like this?"Yeah. I am. Well, about 95% of the time :D

Yup:) I think it kind of ruins the book because it gives you this pre-imagined picture of the characters and setting.

yeah and then you can't use your imagination to perceive the characters differently to the actors. Like, I watched Harry Potter when I was like, 4 and then I read the books when I was about 10 and I couldn't really imagine harry with green eyes after watching Daniel Radcliffe.

Asch's Anti-Paradigm (JennTheAwesum) wrote: "Wow. I never knew. See what comes from just watching the movie?"Yeh. lol :D
Ohmygod! Read the Harry Potters, okay, you will lose sooo much if you dont! Like the everyday life of Hogwarts, how sarcastic Harry is, and WHY everything happens. WHY does Voldy-Moldy want to kill Harry?! Read the books, for me?
Currently reading the Uglies Trilogy (and their extrabook, just because I own it). Been waiting a couple of years due to a missing book.
Lina wrote: "Now I'm re-reading The Hunger Games series. I've completely forgotten how awesome that series is."The 3rd book: I was so lost
Currently reading Emperor of Thorns by Mark Lawrence. It's the last of the trilogy, and I hope it ends well.
I'm going to start The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick as soon as I get the chance. I'm crazy busy right now, with introducing and guiding the first years at UNI into a good student life. Hopefully I'll read this by the end of August though.
Mortal Instruments series, Lux series, The Princess Bride annnnd a few books from the Read-The-Poor-Books-Wasting-Away-On-Your-Shelf August challenge. I have a few bagfuls to chose from that would get me through winter :) I'm like a book squirrel. Stashing for winter.
Just finished Stolen: A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher, and now I'm going to start on A Summer of Kings by Han Nolan. :)
I'm reading Angels in America. it's wonderful, needs to be contemplated word by word. It's metaphorical language is attractive and engaging. I read this because I want to be more logical about gays.
I just finished The Diary of Anne Frank, so I just... Don't know what to start with. I don't want to read any of my books? Any suggestions? It stands between:Clockwork Angel
The Book Thief
Life of Pi
A Game of Thrones
The Return of the King
(Something from my Oscar Wilde Omnibus)
(Something from my Henrik Ibsen Omnibus)
Some Sherlock Holmes Books
Victoria by Knut Hamsun (norwegian writer)
The Phantom of the Opera
(Something from my William Shakespeare Omnibus)
Or buying new books. I'm totally up for that too.
SHERLOCK HOLMES!!! I love those books! If not those, then the Book Thief. It'll be a movie soon, and everyone says it's great, so why not?
I'm currently reading The Dexter Quigly Codices I won it in a GR giveaway, and it's pretty good so far. It's signed by the author too, which is cool:D
Currently reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I'm about 200 pages in, and I'm already loving this story so much it's not even a little funny. I love Liesel so much, and I understand why this book has so many followers and are so popular! I'm usually very reluctant about reading books this popular, because I'm afraid I'll get disappointed. It's amazing. Read it, devour it.
