This is all about YOU! YOU! YOU! Just say a little bit, or a lot, lol, about yourself (: btw, WELCOME TO THE GROUP <3

I'll start

Hi everyone! My name's Leigh & I'm 17 years old. I love to read young adult books & I've been an avid reader since 3rd grade. Why I started this group? Well, it's summer right now here in California, and I wanted to join a group that is strictly a ya challenge group. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one so I made mine own :D

message 2: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessanewberry) Hey:) And I'm glad you made it!

I'm Tessa, I am 18 and I'll be going to the University of Kansas in the fall. I don't know my major yet, but I do know I love reading!! I joined the group because a friend of mine did and I liked the idea of a tight-knit YA challenge group. I'm hoping to read 150 books this year, so I need challenges like this to help keep me on track!

@Tessa: omg I'm not ready for college yet D: lol I'm graduating next year. Thanks for joining again & woohoo for 150 books :D ! My goal is to read 90.

message 4: by Harley (new)

Harley Hey y'all my name is Harley, i'm 17 years old I've been reading since the 5th grade. I love to read, I'm hoping though that this group might keep me on track, i'm hoping to get through as much as my books that i own as possible....i have a LOT.

@Harley: welcome to the group :)

message 6: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Well, I feel like an old woman now. XD

Anywho, I'm Brittany and I've been on GoodReads for a good long time, now. I co-mod two groups and I love chatting and playing around on others. I'm 23 and I'm about to start graduate school in August (so if I seem to disappear around August 20th, you'll know what's up, lol) with a concentration in Zooarchaeology, which is basically the study of animal remains in context with human remains in archaeological sites. I know, I know. Nerd alert. :P

I love to read and write. I have a specific love for Amish fiction in addition to YA and I'm writing my own novel. My goal is 100 books this year and I've already read sixty, so I'm hoping I make the mark come the end of the year. Oh, and I love cats. Those are my kitties Perry (the gray one) and Baxter (the black) in my profile pic.

Nice to meet you all! :)

@Brittany: Welcome to the group :D wow goodluck with your major & novel! And I wish I could read as fast as you. I'm pretty sure you'll hit your goal by the end of the year.

message 8: by Lexie (new)

Lexie (poisonedrationality) @Brittany - aw Brittany! I'm older (by a considerable amount :sigh: ) but congrats to all of you starting school and finishing school! I just finished my associate's degree so now I'm stuck in the 'adult' world trying to pass as one.

I love challenges! Also I love YA, so this seems a good fit yes? I'm Lexie by the by. I love reading in general, its a good way to find stress relief. My younger sister, Tegan, is also unofficially joining the challenges (she doesn't have a Goodreads account)...she's 20, works at a Used Book Store and likes to beat me at everything. XD

Lol, at least I'm not alone then. And I'm trying to avoid the real world and adulthood, hence graduate school. XD

@Lexie: Hi & welcome to the group! Glad your sister is joining too =) Reading books is my stress reliever too. Lol maybe it FEELS old, but you & Brittany are not old

Also, is your sister joining the 2,000 pgs. challenge? If so, I'll put down her name under the participants.

Lexie (poisonedrationality) Hey Leigh!

I don't think she is--her July is packed with well as she put it 'party party party' so while she'll be reading it'll be the tired reading of the dead from socialness variety (so likely romances XD). I'll give her a shout though and find out!

@brittany - I managed to put it off for a number of years, but now I am like 'but I want to take 2 week vacations and be paid for it while just laying around' so time to buck up!

@Lexie Lool that's okay xD

message 13: by Sapir (new)

Sapir | 21 comments Hi everyone!! I'm Sapir and I'm 15 years old. I love reading emotional books with lots of romance. My favorite genres are contemporary, paranormal and dystopian YA books but I appreciate good books in all genres.

I'm not very good in challenges because I'm naturally a slow reader, but because it's the summer vacation, I'll try my best. :)

Welcome to the group Sapir! I'm a slow reader too lol

message 15: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine Heya! I'm Jasmine and I'm from Singapore. I'm currently 15 now but will be 16 in July. I love YA books especially the paranormal romance genre. :D Sadly, this is the last week of my sch hols so i'll be back to studying and doing homework :/ which means less time for reading

@Jasmine: welcome to the group! Aww :/ well hopefully you'll still have time to read :) & there will def. some paranormal romance challenges

message 17: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine Hmm okayy I'll try to join in the challenges becuase I'm going to be really busy once school reopens ;D

message 18: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessanewberry) Jasmine have you read Pivot Point? It sounds just like what you'd love!

message 19: by Jasmine (new)

Jasmine Ohh i haven't but it's on my to-read list. :D
I'll probably be picking it up soon :) Thanks~

message 20: by Tessa (new)

Tessa (tessanewberry) It's a must!! Don't read reviews or anything though. I think I liked it so much because I had no idea what to expect. So try to just read and not think about it took much!

message 21: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Hi, I'm Kaitin! I'm not one for long introductions, but you should know that I really love to read YA books. (Wait . . . you must have already known that . . .) :)

message 22: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) By the way, Leigh, this is a great idea for a group. It's easier to do challenges in a group dedicated to them because the members are actually interested in participating in them.
