I love the iPad. I am using mine right now. But I also have an Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9 and a Kindle Fire HD 7". I love them like you would not believe because if I don't feel like reading my Kindle Fire will read to me with the text-to-speech feature. Now, it's not perfect because she gets some of the words wrong, but I always know what she's referring to.
I am using the kindle app and the ibooks app on my iphone. I have a kobo but its not back lit and I hate it. I am looking it buying a new one very very very soon. would love some feedback from you guys on what the best one is :)
Sharon, I really love my Kindle Fire. I have friends who have had the Nook and dealt with freezing up and sitting off too.
Both of mine will shut down for no reason, but it's minor. I don't think anything gets better than the iPad quality. I do like the lending library for Kindle but it really isn't worth it. You have to be a Prime member and you can only borrow one book. Soooooo not worth the hassle. Other than that my Kindles are great.

I have the first Kindle that was released on the market and it has been fantastic, no problems at all (I shouldn't have said that uh oh lol) but I have my phone and iPad as back up, but never used them for read yet x
Me too Louise, I have one of the original "paper" Kindles and I love it, I was reading by the pool yesterday in full sun. I do want a Fire though 'cause my 10 yr old stole my android tablet LOL
I have the kindle paperwhite but also the kindle app on my phone, ipad and ipod aka I am never without a book
I have a kindle touch, but I preferred my old kindle as you didn't have to swipe, lazy I know just easier. Unfortunately I dropped my suitcase on my old one and thought upgrading would be better. I do use my phone when out and about mainly when waiting for the kids at clubs etc, and I also have an iPad which I do occasionally use.
I very rarely even use my iPad any more. Although I will say that I really like the GoodReads app for iPad a whole lot more than the Android version. You can do so much more.
