The good people at That Book You Like are hosting a live Facebook chat with Chris on their Facebook page in just 30 minutes!

It's part of their making June Intrepid Month in their book club, but all are welcome to add their question over on Facebook.

Some great questions lined up, and Chris looks forward to getting yours too. *See* you all soon!

That was really great!! Did anyone else get chatting with Chris on That Book You Like!?

Steve Smy (steveksmy) | 37 comments I missed it :( Between differing time zones, limited hours online, and writing, there just didn't seem to be enough hours :( Very miffed!

Thanks Erin! It's going to be great fun. We will have to do a Book Club event that fits with our US friends timezones soon ;)

Some brilliant insights and robust discussion on Erin's Book Club Chat on Facebook tonight.

If you slept through it (Steve ;) here's the link below and a few tidbits from the conversation:

"Unfortunately, my career during the post 9/11 environment was keeping me very busy and so I wasn't able to review and re-write my manuscripts as quickly as I would have liked. Hence, the 10 years it eventually took."

"Social networking, particularly for new or aspiring writers is absolutely critical if you are serious about building awareness and drawing in an audience that will potentially be interested in your work."

"In the first novel Defender, I described Alex Morgan's blood being up as he prepared to hunt down a wanted criminal. At that point, Morgan was in his car and decided to play music that matched his mood. I used the album State of Emergency by The Living End. They're one of my favourite bands and that album is full of energy!"

"I graduated to classics like The Count of Monte Cristo and so on, absolutely loved those types of stories. But when I discovered Ian Fleming's The Man With The Golden Gun in the school library, I knew that I wanted to do what Fleming had done."

Steve, if you can find us an online book club in your timezone, we will make it happen!

Right at the moment, Sarah, I'm not doing so hot, so have very little time online - just odd moments now and then, If things stabilise (preferably for the good), I'll see what I can find ;)

Look after yourself Steve - hoping you're feeling better by the time you read this. I just saw your update and want you to know we are thinking of you and sending good vibes your way :) Best, Sar

Steve Smy (steveksmy) | 37 comments Thanks Sar. Rough times still. Not helped by hearing that I have to jump through hoops and be interrogated to make sure that I haven't suddenly undergone a miracle cure! Seems I might be fit to rejoin the workforce suddenly. Not sure how that works when employers thought I was washed up I was in my 30s and still healthy and fit! :O All sent to make us stronger, I'm told - personally, it just makes me angry ;)
