I recently finished Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talkingand really enjoyed it. Many of her points resonated with my personality. Helped to explain some of my characteristics. I haven't read Gladwell's book, but I heard Cain on a live feed share that Gladwell's work powerfully impacted and affected her style of writing.Yes, I had heard of the 10,000 hour rule before. It makes sense. I started taking violin lessons eight years ago. Before starting lessons I had heard of neuromuscular memory, but learning the violin demonstrated just what an amazing gift it is. Repetitive practice, IMHO, seems to improve one's skill, advance one understanding of the principles and techniques involved, and give one the opportunity to gain extremely good neuromuscular memory. A master level cellist shared that she would practice a specific technique on her cello for hours at a time in order to perfect it. You are right that it is an amazing amount of dedication.
Sounds like I need to pick up Gladwell's book!
