Stubborn Reader of Fantasy, Currently Reading Brian Ruckley's Godless world Trilogy 1 "Winterbirth". Its a good read though quite underrated
Misha wrote: "Anyone interested in fantasy? Care to recommend/discuss some?"You may try Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. Its a series of around 40 books and it is just completely amazing.
No it isn't. Basically there are 6 main themes: 1)Wizards 2) Witches 3) Ancient Civilization 4) DEATH (death is actually a character and always speaks in caps:p) 5) City Watch 6) Industrial RevolutionAll the stories of one theme are usually connected and there are some minor links that connect them with the other themes. There is actually a whole reading order guide to follow so you read it in correct order :)
left with three i think :p just ordered two today but couldn't find the third one yet :/ still searching..
I am surprised no one has mentioned:
as yet. With its political maneuvering, twists and turns, by far one of the best epic fantasy series that I have read.

Personally 40 books are too much.
I have seen the movie of eragon but havent read the book. didnt get many High recommendations for it.
I've watched the movie as well. It was so so. How's the book @Arsalan? I'm on book 5 of Game of Thrones and I'm inclined too agree with you ;-)
@Arsalan agree with u on that one. Have been waiting for book 6 but no sign of it on the horizon. Hopefully George RR Martin will come to his senses and publish it soon. :p
@Shehzad n @Nitasha, here this will be of help to you, :)

Well Inheritence cycle was a four book series and I'll say all those who like epic and adventurous fantasy it is must read.
@Arsalan inheritance was a good series but after eragon the quality of writing really dwindled down... i hated the secind and the third book.. brisngr was slightly better... Also i wud absolutely discourage you to read "his dark materials" ;-P... I started banging my head by the end of book two :-(

Dan Simmons' Hyperion CantosIts a genre-defying series with fantasy, science-fiction thrown into a Canterbury Tales style Epic or odyssey.
But its a brilliant series penned by the Master himself. Should never be overlooked.
More people need to read
.While the first in the series does little to differentiate itself from a typical fantasy, the second and third are beasts. Best of all, the writing is purely poetic.
@Arsalan they are Novella after book 1 (1.5) and book 2 (2.5) and so on kinda bridge between books sometimes from different prospective then main protagonist.
Well isn't it a bit awkward concept? why not continue with 1 2 3 in series. This reminds me of Sword of Truth series in which the last book thw writer wrote comes in the first book in chronology
Aalia wrote: "@Komal right on! I love Prince of Thorns! It is definitely poetic but at the same time, regardless of it being in the fantasy genre... realistic. You don't have a noble hero and a big, bad villain ..."Well My life seems to play tricks and in the case of sword of truth I got halfway and then joined army and now I just can't bring myself to read it maybe some day. Here Spent 2 whoe semesters with Game of thrones now looking for something special in Fantasy. Maybe R J Dultz or Micheal Sullivan maybe someone else after I'm done with Brian Ruckley's Godless world. And now semester starts on Monday. doomed!!!!
@AliaHaha, well I think your tastes are superb lady! To the dungeons, all who think differently for this book I say!
It was a very fresh take on Dark Fantasy and it really explores the sides that are not very exposed in the genre.
Maira wrote: "I have seen the movie of eragon but havent read the book. didnt get many High recommendations for it."The film is nothing like the book! The book is obviously better. You shouldn't judge a book by its film adaption. And Eragon film was a flop one anyway. The readers were sorely disappointed. The series was pretty awesome.

I am reading Lux series nowadays and enjoying them very much :)
I love lux and anything ❤Daemon ❤*dreamy eyes* I hope they change the ending of Allegiant, will definitely make it more bearable.
Kya kabhi kisi ko yeh baat ajeeb lagi hai ke TFIOS and Divergent trilogy ki casting strange hai.
Yep... I always thought they played siblings in Divergent and lovers in TFIOS I discussed it with my friend. She said 'they have no shame'. LOLZ I found it strange but i seriously loved them all ;D
Who hasn't read it?Actually I started reading again because of all the hype surrounding it.The Shailene and Ansel thing is sometimes kinda gross. Magar shaid isi waja se film daikhana book parhne se comparatively easy hai.You don't feel like crying at all. I think I cried more watching Me,Earl and the dying girl.
Yeah that was a stupid thing to ask.. LOL! I didn't cry at all watching it but I did cry when I read the book. I don't remember I ever cried over while watching a film...But A little tear shed when I watched the last scene of HP's last installment when I realized our journey was over..
