Wild Things: YA Grown-Up discussion

This trilogy is great. It's about three boys who become friends and deal with their sexualities together. This trilogy pefectly portrays the struggles and obstacles of growing up gay. I definitely recommend reading it.

I agree Ashley. I think Sanchez is an excellent writer.

I just read Rainbow Boys. I thought it was only OK. Not terrible by any stretch, but not really wonderful either. I didn't think the characters were developed fully enough. I might read the other two, but only if my library has them. I doubt I'd spend money on them.

I have not read the Rainbow Boys trilogy, but I have read two other novels by Alex Sanchez. Getting It was an interesting story about a straight guy getting made over by a gay guy (a la Queer Eye for the Straight Guy) in order to attract the attention of the girl he liked. The God Box was a deeper story about a teenager trying to come to terms with the possibility that he might be gay and reconciling that with the Christian faith he was brought up in.
