It actually happened about a month ago, but as Jack Vance has always been one of my favorite writers, I thought it fitting to pay tribute to him anyway.

I believe that over the years he won every major award in SF - Hugo, Nebula, etc. - as well as an Edgar for mystery. He will be missed.
