Oh my, that's a tough question, Andrea.I loved both Jennifer Crusie and Leslie Kelly's Temptations. And Betty Neels is always great! I remember reading Penny Jordan and Charlotte Lamb all the way back in high school :) I really love Holly's Jacobs' Americans---and heck, pretty much all the others she's written, too. I really like Susan Mallery's Special Editions, Nora Robert's Specials are wonderful as well. Oh geesh, you get the idea, I could go on forever with favorites!

I'm going to have to think about this one. Leanne Banks is one author that comes to mind. She writes for Silhouette Desire.
Ruth Wind has become a favorite author for me. She writes with a beauty and depth that I don't usually find in category romance.
My all time favorite would have to be Diana Palmer (SD), though she doesn't do much silhouette anymore. I also enjoy Vicki L. Thompson, Karen Foley and Rhonda Nelson (all HB writers). I can think of about a dozen more who I just can't miss their books. Also from the Desire line, Linda Lael Miller and Elizabeth Lowell (nobody does love scenes like Lowell).
Been reading the Harlequin/Silhouette lines since 1965. they have changed with the times and done a great job. Margaret Mayo, Margaret Way & Betty Neels (RIP) will always be standouts. It's hard to narrow the list down to a few. I love all the lines but Silhouette Desire is probably my favorite. My favorite authors would have to be:
1. Olivia Gates
2. Maureen Child
3. Catherine Mann
4. Leanne Banks
5. Maxine Sullivan
6. Michelle Celmer
These authors I buy automatically. I don't read the book backs. I buy them sight unseen.
I see some of the authors I like on various lists. I forgot a few, like Olivia Gates, Penny Jordan, and Michelle Celmer.

Hello everyone, my name is Anne. I started reading Mills&Boon/Harlequin a long time ago & though I moved to other sub genres of Romance, Harlequins remain closest to my ‘heart’. I’m amazed how these super authors write full, complete and extremely satisfying stories in 50,000 words. I too have tried my hand writing in a similar style & have uploaded my book to Good reads, if anyone is interested in checking it out. I'm still new at this so pls do forgive any glaring problems you might have with the book. A few people liked the book but some hated my Jeanluc cause they think he's nasty. Anyway, I'm so happy I found this group and would love to be amongst my people, if you’ll have me.My favorite Authors:
Anne Mather
Jacqueline Baird
Lynne Grahame
Penny Jordan
Sandra Marton
Leslie Kelly
Margaret Way
