Classics Without All the Class discussion

I'm in chapter 17 but this is going on my favorites list. I am still astounded that I didn't know this story was a novel. I thought is was just a musical play and later adapted for film. Thanks CWoAtC for introducing it to me.

I always thought it was just a musical as well

I told my son last night that when he gets the time I think he will love it. He grew up reading the classics with me and now he's heading to college and who knows how much pleasure reading he will have time for. I am struck by the writing style. I think it is ahead of its time. Does anyone else feel that way?

Simply wonderful. I like the style of this author, and the book is easy to read. In these chapters the reader can think that the end is near, but non yet: there are some explanations and even more mystery, like ad example the strange behavior of the two directors.
