Hey, I want to start a new blog but I will be able to start one in a few years :( Im not allowed right nowAnyways I wanted some tips on how to get authors to look at your blogs, once I am ready to start my blog, I want to be interviewing authors! I have never don eit before so I would like a few pointers :)
Well, as a new blogger, I've just started with the interviews. I joined different goodreads groups dedicated to connecting authors and bloggers/readers. I left my link in a whole bunch of places saying I would be interested in interviewing authors or reading and reviewing books. In this folder, I have a thread dedicated to offering to interview any authors. I'm working on my second interview for that one. I also posted a link just like that one on the other group I moderate.
However, the best advice I can give you is to contact an author directly, requesting an interview.
I was wondering how do I make changes in the blogger templates? I'm about to start a blog for reviewing books but I'm stuck at a few points. Like how to creates drop down menus in there? If I open the Edit HTML link, I get confused. Since I know only a basic part of HTML, I'm not able to make the necessary changes. Can anyone please help? :|

First, I would try finding followers through Goodreads groups like Blogger Lift. I would also try the Feature and Follow Friday meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, which you can find one of the posts here: http://www.parajunkee.com/2013/08/fea...One of the best ways to get followers, though, is to interact with other bloggers and visit their blogs. Twitter helps too. Most of my regular visitors are those I talk to on there.
One thing I've found helpful (although I'm not very experienced) is to write more than reviews: try talking about your favorite genre, or why a plot is way overused.
Thank you kaitlin! Those tips are very helpful. I will check out those links right now. Good idea Raevyn. I will do that was well. What is your blog about?
