Book~a~licious! discussion

Why is it that whenever a new dystopia book comes out, it is being compared to the Hunger Games? I know The Hunger Games is dystopian as well, but a book can be a dystopia and have a completely different story line from The Hunger Games! What do you guys think is the reason?

I think it may be because HG was the first "well known" dystopia and it gives everyone a common reference point.
