Clive Hendelson I'm still thinking as to whether I'll read this book or not. Would you recommend this book for me?

Rose It's my favorite Dan Brown novel. I would highly recommend it.

Carmen Not at all. This is his worst book by far.

How come?

Christina Teilmann It's been a while since I've read it, but if I remember correctly, it was kind of a slow starter, but once the story got going, it was quite good and interesting. Like most Dan Brown novels, it's fast-paced and action-packed and pretty hard to put down while you read it, but once you've read it, you forget what it's about pretty quickly. Or maybe that's just me. But if it's a quick exciting read you're after, it serves that purpose:-)

Chris Durkin Way better than the crap that the Robert Langdon books have turned into

I love the outer space themes and the techno-thriller focus without having to have all the religious controversy drama that the Langdon novels incite.

Nichole I think all his books are worth reading. You may not like them when you finish, but I've never read one and wanted to put it down.

I know what you mean. I have the book on my shelf. I read it. I know I liked it. I cannot really remember what it is about.

Jaylyn Clive wrote: "I'm still thinking as to whether I'll read this book or not. Would you recommend this book for me?"

This was by far my favorite Dan Brown Novel and I've read them all, yes by all means read it, you won't be disappointed.

Carole This was an exciting, fast-paced adventure. I would definitely recommend this book for those readers who like this kind of story.

Rhian best dan brown book

Maria Definitely his best! Give it a go, its a good story!!

Katerina to my worst enemy!!!
a complete waste of time in my opinion!

Peter Clive wrote: "I'm still thinking as to whether I'll read this book or not. Would you recommend this book for me?"

I've read almost all Dan Brown books, this is the only one I didn't finish. I didn't like it at all, I like to be surprised, and in this book I guessed the plot within the first 100 pages. I usually don't read this genre, only reason I read Brown's books is because they're usually innovative and I never know what to expect, I didn't get that feeling at all in this book. Wouldn't recommend it.

Easydog Day yes if you want to know more about deception within a finite place you can

Oh you...

Subramanian Clive wrote: "I'm still thinking as to whether I'll read this book or not. Would you recommend this book for me?"
No, don't even think of reading this book. It's by far, the worst book by Dan Brown.

Subramanian Katerina wrote: "to my worst enemy!!!

Yes, yes, I too.

Samyak Second best to The Da Vinci Code.

Ric0311 Yes it's a lot of fun and a little out of character for DB.

Marc Daniel The many contradicting opinion illustrate that when it comes to books, people opinion on a same subject vary drastically...just like for everything else.

I believe the order in which you read Dan Brown's books will drastically affect your opinion of a particular book. His plots are all based on the same blue print and after you read one, you'll be able to pick the Bad Guy for all others in a heart beat. Therefore the more you read him, the more boring he tends to get.
This being said, I still believe it is a good book.

Subramanian Samyak wrote: "Second best to The Da Vinci Code."
What?!

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm currently reading it and I've read 120 pages so far. It keeps me going because it kind of has a promising development of the story, but I admit that the start is a little slow.

Same ! However Deception Point and Inferno are my favorites !

Cheryl Laver This is my favorite Dan Brown novel.

Gail Barrett Clive wrote: "I'm still thinking as to whether I'll read this book or not. Would you recommend this book for me?"

I enjoyed it. At the end, the action seemed a bit over the top, but still, it was fast paced and interesting.

message 29: by Anna (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anna Machain si lo recomendaria pero, solo a un publico en concreto, por que este tipo de historias no les gusta a tod el mundo

Vinay Yeole I would recommend this book. Though thrill of deception doesn't last long.

I would recommend any other Dan Browns novel.

Ultimately you might not regret after you read the book.

Daniela Sánchez I completely recommend it. I loved it! It was full of unexpected twists and interesting real facts!

Subramanian Daniela wrote: "I completely recommend it. I loved it! It was full of unexpected twists and interesting real facts!"
I can't believe it! This is a parody; a big joke by Dan Brown.

Asmaa Arqawi yes

message 34: by Pete (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pete Wong I think Deception Point is Dan Brown's best. (I have not read the Inferno)

message 35: by Pete (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pete Wong Chris wrote: "Way better than the crap that the Robert Langdon books have turned into"

Agree. DB should write more of this kind rather than writing about Robert Langdon.

Subramanian YK wrote: "I think Deception Point is Dan Brown's best. (I have not read the Inferno)"

Don't. It is the worst.

Marte I loved this one, so yes, read it at once!

Nayyir Yameen An awesome thriller, full of suspense and excitement, everyone should read it.

Faedra YK wrote: "I think Deception Point is Dan Brown's best. (I have not read the Inferno)"

I totally agree!!!

message 40: by Phillip (new)

Phillip Thurlby Saying this is Dan Brown's best is like saying pan frying is the best way to cook ox penis....

message 41: by A.J. (new) - rated it 2 stars

A.J. Knauss The plot is contrived but I don't mind that in a thriller. For me its in "beach read" category and that is not a bad thing.

message 42: by Phillip (new)

Phillip Thurlby Just ask yourself these questions:

1. Will I manage to read every book ever before I die?
2. (If answer to 1 = no) Do I have time to waste on this book?

message 43: by Brian (last edited Oct 29, 2013 08:48PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Brian Rector I think Digital Fortress was my favorite with Deception Point as a second runner up. I'm actually trying to find more books that match this style of action/intrigue so I'll be curious to see what other people post on this topic.

I do recommend Deception Point if you're in the mood for a good compelling page-turner, but don't expect anything deeper than that.

Afshan I loved Deception Point! I have read three of his books and this one was really good. Have to read it again....

Dia420071501566 definitely this book by far the best dan brown novel

Lakshmi Hayagriva I loved it. Critics should at least appreciate the meticulous research that is part and parcel of all his books. You can learn a lot of interesting stuff from any Dan Brown book.

message 47: by Sebastiao (new) - added it

Sebastiao Lopes sim e um otimo livro

message 48: by Paul (new) - rated it 1 star

Paul I guess you're either a fan or not. I thought this book was rubbish.
My review:

Stéphane Desienne Slow at start and then a page turner story.
I would recommend it. Not Dan Brown's best anaway but very good novel.

Saketh I would definitely recommend this book. The plot is amazing and Dan surprises us with his usual little twists in the tale.
