Zenab, I was kind of leaning towards 3 stars as well, but by the end, it had gone up to 4, mainly because I still liked the main story. Here's my review: (It does not contain any spoilers)http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Curious if other agree or disagree. I think the reason Hosseini is one of my favorite authors is that despite the negatives, his writing has the power to stay with you.
^i more or less agree with the review. it is a very good read, a very compelling story however, I would have liked to know what happens to Adel and Gholam as they grew up. These and some other characters were left un-addressed
Yes I agree. It is the issue of incomplete resolution, and also the feeling of having read many short stories rather than one novel. The strongest aspect was the brother-sister bond between Abdullah and Pari, but perhaps only a quarter of the book was about them.

i loved this book and was my best read of 2013. love every aspect and they its crafted. so many character and their stories with one main running along(brother and sister) we are in whole book rooting for something and then....BOOMstill need to read Kite runner
this one and Thousand splendid sun was gorgeous and brutal and emotional reads
