I am happy to have Dead and Gone in my library TBR and hope for my turn at Lee Child's Gone Tomorrow soon. It appears that the Dean Koontz release for this month is actually called Relentless. I am number 40 on the list after finding it today. I haven't had room on the hold list anyway until now. :)

I hope you love DEAD AND GONE, Ann! I think it's the best in awhile in this series. I've found a couple of pretty good Urban Fantasy and Paranormal boards here on Goodreads and we've been having some discussions on both about this book. I'm really interested to see where the series goes next.

Sorry about that Ann, I guess they changed the title on me and I didn't catch it. I am worried that your library is discriminating against you with those limited holds. Anyone who can juggle holds and library due dates like you can deserves at least double that amount. The library needs to bump you up to GOLD status!

I like the way you think!!! If I get really desperate I'll make DH go in and sign up for a card. Other than a few delays on getting what I want I am surviving, but it keeps me on my toes working out my strategy for the ten available holds! I have figured out that the Overdrive audio books are another option on top of the ten holds. I am listening to my second Overdrive audio this month now - Fairstein's Lethal Legacy A Novel, a new release from February. It is very good so far, with much of the setting inside the NYC Main Public library in the conservatory and special collections areas -- fascinating!

I am looking forward to it! Thanks for the tip on the boards you found -- there are a daunting number of groups here!
Amazon delivered the DVD of True Blood Wednesday and I may not be able to wait for DH to be ready to watch it.

Scarecrow and Cemetery Dance are "on order" at my local library, along with the first of Charlaine Harris' "Sookie" series, since I had never heard of this author. Really looking forward to getting into Preston & Child's new thriller! ;o)

My True Blood DVDs arrived on Thursday. Looking forward to watching them as I want to see the bonus stuff. Looking forward to the 2nd season starting June 14th on HBO. So is my niece!

I SO love this site, I just added lethal legacy to my to read shelf, I no longer have to write titles down, keep a notebook or a seperate file just click title and save to my bookshelf. LOVE IT

I copy Gail's upcoming release lists into an Excel spreadsheet to keep up with my ten holds limit workaround strategies and my wish list for requesting them -- but do agree this GR site is marvelous for finding the books and then keeping up with them after I have them snagged at the library. Another thing I LOVE about Goodreads is how they put the series number in the title of the book for the cover and on the book or author's pages. -- I wish other sites like Amazon or my library catalog would do that.

For those who may not have noticed Good reads offers that series identification, hover your mouse over the book cover below and the decription includes that Repair to Her Grave is number 4 in the series. (I used that feauture on Sarah Graves author page to identify the next two books in the series a bit easier last night)

WOW! That's way cool, thanks for noting that Goodreads feature! Much better than what I went through to find the first in the Sookie series ... ;o)

Thanks to you I have read the Lee Child and Charlaine Harris books, and I am three quarters of the way through the newest Koontz, and have the Gillian Flynn book in the tbr. It may be months before I get the Michael Connelly - that one has over 200 holds for 24 copies. :( Yikes!!
Interestingly, the Koontz US title is Relentless A Novel, but as the main characters are near a woods right now, the other title seems like it may be apropos. This one has be wanting to drive more to listen!

Let's see ... CR The Scarecrow, have Dark Places, and Cemetery Dance, Gone Tomorrow, and Lost Child are all on reserve at my local library!

I tried the first "Sookie" book, but thought it too juvenile (sorreeee); Dean Koontz is an "iffy" since I don't always love his stuff (loved "The Watcher"); Sanford I've never tried and should probably begin at the beginning, yes (?); and the other authors I've never heard of ... any tempters out there??? ;o)

YES, do try the Prey books! John Sandford

Sorry you didn't like the Sookie books. Have you ever watched True Blood? It's definitely NOT juvenile! I haven't read a Sanford Lucas Davenport book in years, but must say that Rules Of Prey, the first one had me sleeping with the lights on back when I read it years ago!

message 17: by Liz (new)

Liz (hissheep) Rules of Prey, on reserve! ;o)

No, have not watched True Blood but have reserved the first season from both Netflix and my library; maybe that will give me a "jumpstart"?

I think calling it a jump start will be putting it mildly. True Blood is anything but juvenile.

On second thought, maybe I'll revisit the "Sookie" books - possibly it was the wrong day to begin it; that happens ... thanks for all the input! ;o)
