It's time to share those MG treasures from June ...

Kathryn (mrskathryn) The Dogs of Winter by Bobbie Pyron
My 10 year old son read it first and proclaimed it was the best book he's ever read. He asked me to read it in one day so we could talk about it - it is a book to talk about. Some tough realities about the lives some children face. It was a wonderful, but sad read.

Okay for Now by Gary D. Schmidt
I love Gary Schmidt.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Boxed Set (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1-5) by Rick Riordan
I listened to the entire series in June! I was drawn in by the characters and couldn't wait to see where they ended up!

Cheryl (cherylllr) Remote Man by Elizabeth Honey Remote Man was pretty darn cool. Lots going on, and probably a bit too much for under age 10 or 11.

Julee | 2 comments I award Doll Bones the most intriguing cover of the year. The cover design created a discomforting sense of conflict within me. I do not read scary books but I felt compelled to read it. I believe it was the work of the Queen drawing me into the story of Zack, Poppy, and Alice and their mission to lay the Queen in her empty grave.

Any time a book inspires me to research it's back story, I know it to be a good book.

I believe kids will love this book because it is an exquisite blend of fantasy and adventure with a ghost who seems a little too real at times. Read it. Buy it. Share it. Let it creep into your dreams.

Cordelia Dinsmore (cordeliadinsmore) | 105 comments I loved Summer of the Gypsy Moths. The depth of emotions these young girls experienced was touching, even if the premise wasn't totally believable. The characters were fully dimensional, leaving me laughing one moment and in tears the next.

It's a fairly heavy read, but I liked every page of it.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Summer of the Gypsy Moths for the link. It's by Sara Pennypacker so I'll def. have to investigate it.

Cordelia Dinsmore (cordeliadinsmore) | 105 comments Cheryl - sorry I didn't get the link in there. It was a very enjoyable read. I haven't read her others yet.

Cheryl (cherylllr) It's ok - I'm used to adding links because people on phones can't add them, so I do it for them (in my other group).
