This topic is for wendigos. What are they? Have you read a book about them? What is your opinion?

Justin (justinbienvenue) Wendigos are of Algonquin folklore and myth. They are human and deer like with antlers and have demon like qualities. They are said to feed off human flesh.

Kaine Andrews (kaineandrews) | 75 comments I've also seen the term applied to individuals who were "touched by the Wendigo" (IE: went cannibal, for whatever reason). I believe the film Ravenous (which I deeply enjoyed, because I'm a horrible person) went on at length in that vein.

Stephen King had one wandering around the Micmac Burial Grounds in Pet Semetary, as well. Though his was like 80 feet tall and was a mixture of bird, deer, reptile and demon.

Justin (justinbienvenue) Wendigos also tend to have demonic like qualities nd characteristics so in a way could be a type of demon. They have red eyes and feed off flesh.

I just saw this comment and I laughed at that parentheses part. Now I must ruin the image of wendigos for you. Female version of Stephen King, the whole genie thing, hmmm... what shall I do to ruin these> :P

It's turning out quite fun. You said they had antlers and were deer like? What if they were the ones pulling santa's sleigh on Christmas? They eat the bad little children while santa dances like a genie.

Justin (justinbienvenue) Rudolph wasn't a reindeer right? He was Wendigo thats why hes left out and can't play reindeer games.

Kaine Andrews (kaineandrews) | 75 comments Which is all fine and well... since he later murdered and ate the others. Thus leading to their skeletal reanimation in Nightmare Before Christmas

We completely disregarded genie Santa! Picture it! I dare you! Picture. It. Picture that horrible image

Just watched the episode of Supernatural with Wendigoes. That was creepy. Season 1, Episode 2 if anyone wonders. It was originally a man in a group of explorers in the 1800's. His group was starving and he started eating them and became a wendigo. They caught him killing modern day campers. I thought the coolest part was how they killed it. It (according to the show) has to be killed with fire. Since they didn't have any way of lighting it on fire, they shot a flare gun into its gut and the whole thing went up in flames from the inside out

Kaine Andrews (kaineandrews) | 75 comments That episode entertains me entirely too much. Especially when the girl they're there to help comments that Dean didn't even pack provisions and he whips out the economy sized bag of M&Ms.

hahaha. I loved that part! Dean and his food...

Justin (justinbienvenue) With Hannibal starting up again, I'm expecting more of the Wendigo as it was a hallucination of the doctor during his breakdown.
