Now that everyone has an eReader, do you still buy traditional books or just eBooks? I will purchase magazines, but 98% of my books are all eBooks. Magazines look great on my Kindle but there is nothing like turning the page in a magazine.

What about you?

Lekeisha (lekeishathebooknerd) I love my kindles but lately, I've been buying hardcovers and paperbacks. Mainly, to fill my shelves with the ones I already have in ebooks. Only my favorites though.

I think I only buy the books now that I cannot find in eBook format (which is not many).

message 4: by Lekeisha (new)

Lekeisha (lekeishathebooknerd) Now if It's a new release and the ebook price is almost as much as the print, I'm buying the print anyway. Sometimes I just grab a book to put in my bag, rather than my ereaders.

Lekeisha,

I don't understand a print book being the same price as an e-book. I will not purchase an e-book that is over $7.99.

message 6: by Lekeisha (new)

Lekeisha (lekeishathebooknerd) Exactly. When Insurgent came out last year, I was so anxious to get back into the story. I saw the price of the ebook and I hopped right on in my car and drove to Wal-Mart, and bought the print book. No way was I paying $10 for an ebook, when I could get the print for a few dollars more.

I just don't understand the logic behind it. I can totally understand it with traditional books because of the paper and binding. But you do not have that with eBooks. Makes no sense.

I would say 99% of my book are e books. The only books I buy now are signed ones or books that I am going to have signed. I have quite a collection going...I think I am going OCD on getting signed books. Lol. A few years ago I use to buy any ebook no matter the price, but now I have a 3.99 limit. I only go over the limit if its a book I have been dying to read...like from a series. Some ebook prices are outrageous and I think publishers take advantage!

Lisa, are there a lot of signings where you live? I never hear of any in DE.

Cassie (mililnerd) | 82 comments I buy ebooks mainly but if the are books that I really enjoyed I have to own a hard couple of them as well… never gets to old to hold a good book

Claire, it takes me forever to get through a traditional book now.

message 18: by Dollie (new)

Dollie Lemon | 23 comments I love ebooks! I read A LOT and so does my daughter. We don't have room for all the books we read. That being said, the last hardcopy book I got was the one written by Ozzy Osbourne and it was a gift. BTW, I found it hilarious!

I read more now I have a kindle than I ever did with books, that's only because I can search books on amazon etc.. Walking into a book store confused the hell out of me.

I saw this little thing on FB :

Nerd Girl Problem #463
The entire paper book vs e-reader debate - because a book is a book and a story is a story no matter how it's read

Oh and if i had never got an ereader I would have never discovered Tim O'Rourke's amazing books :)

message 21: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 20 comments That's the same with me Louise. If I hadn't got my kindle and searched amazon for vampire books. I would never have found Tims vampire shift.

message 22: by Dollie (new)

Dollie Lemon | 23 comments Yes I wouldn't have discovered Tim without my ereader. I get emails for free books or discounted books. Usually they are the first book in a series. That way if you like it, you will purchase the rest. And purchase I did and still do and will.

message 23: by Lekeisha (new)

Lekeisha (lekeishathebooknerd) Me too guys! It hurts to think that if I'd never gotten that Kindle for Christmas years ago, I wouldn't know about Tim's awesome books. That Vampire Shift cover drew me in and I just had to get it. I'm so freaking glad that I did!!
