Do you think it's weird that he seemed to love Rose so much not to kill her when he was a Strigoi, and then reject her when he was changed back to a dhampir . . . including not being jealous about Rose dating Adrian?

He's traumatized from being a strigoi and he's torturing himself for what he did to Rose. I think he loves her so much that he absolutely can't even look at her because he hates and is disgusted by what he did to her. He thinks that she doesn't deserve her at all and that she should move on. Dimitri is notorious for not showing emotions so I think he is just hiding his love for her because if he shows her even a little bit of how he feels, she would keep coming back and he wants her to move on. I haven't read the next book so I'm not sure if my suspicions are correct but I am almost positive or I hope I'm right. That would make me die if that wasn't the case....X|«me dead.

He loved Rose so much that he could not make himself hurt her even when his nature as a strigoi is to distroy people with blood. He had mixed feelings. He kept struggling to keep her well and alive. Naturally when he was cured he had the memories of causing her suffering and terror. He probably kept thinking back and told himself how much he does not diserve Rose. It caused him pain to see Rose with Adrian but as long as he was sure Rose would be safe and sound, he was willing to sucrifice his own happines. I think he is a very thoughtful gentleman! Wish men like that existed!

Dimitri is an angel! He loved Rose and could not bring himself to kill her when he was strigoi and he could not grudge her the supposedly good life with Adrian, so he rejected her. Its also that becoming strigoi is the one thing he despised above all and he was too fragile and confused to take her back because of what he had done during his few days as a strigoi. But he never stopped loving her.
Love Dimitri, I believe even though he was a strigoi he still had humanity in him. His love for Rose was too strong to forget. After he was turned back he just felt it was best to let Adrian be with Rose because of the things he had done as a Strigoi.

He felt like he no longer deserved her. Dimitri was traumatized from spending months as a soulless murderer and felt guilty for nearly turning Rose into one too.
Dimitri loves Rose and when he became a Strigoi that love became more of a lust than real love. The stuff Dimitri did and what he did to Rose as a Strigoi was painful and evil to the point that he is felt that his soul and humanity has been tainted. He didn't want to hurt Rose anymore, which is why he said that he rejected her. He can be with her without thinking about what he had done. He still loves her but I think he feels unworthy to love her. He just needed time to adjust and get over what he had done.
