Vickie | 33 comments I'm trying for 100 books. Wish me luck.

Vickie | 33 comments Books 1-3 (Read after in January): The Hunger Games, Mockingjay, and Catching Fire

message 3: by Vickie (last edited Jul 03, 2013 08:08PM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Books 4-6 were Seduction of a Highland Lass, Never Love a Highlander, and In Bed with a Highlander. They were read shortly after I was done reading The Hunger Games trilogy.

message 4: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 7 was Clockwork Princess (I re-read the first two in the series but I don't think that counts for this challenge).

Vickie | 33 comments Book 8 became Harlequin Holiday Collection Four Classic Seasonal Novellas by Debra Webb . I wouldn't recommend it unless you have nothing else to read, there were only two good stories in it.

message 6: by Vickie (last edited Jul 07, 2013 03:08PM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Books 9-11 were Heiress (Daughters of Fortune, #1) by Susan May Warren , Baroness (Daughters of Fortune, #2) by Susan May Warren , and Duchess (Daughters of Fortune, #3) by Susan May Warren . They were a really good Christian series.

Vickie | 33 comments Book 12 was interesting: A Valentine from Harlequin: Six Degrees of Romance. A collection of sis stories that start off the same but have vastly different plots and characters.

message 8: by Vickie (last edited Jul 07, 2013 03:12PM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Books 13-16 Never Again Good-bye, Blind Trust, When Dreams Cross, and Broken Wings. They were a really good series, easy to read. The last book took me longer than normal to read though.

message 9: by Vickie (last edited Jul 07, 2013 03:12PM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 17 was Fools Rush in and book 18 was Too Good to Be True by Kristan Higgins .

message 10: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments And book 19, the most recent (finished yesterday) was Irresistible Forces (Steele Series #5) by Brenda Jackson . It wasn't my normal YA but it was a good, steamy book.

Vickie | 33 comments Book 20 finished yesterday: Pillow Talk by Maya Banks . It was.. erotic but was it believable? Not in the least. Maya Banks is one of my favourite author's (after reading the Highlander's series) and this book was a let down because the lack of plot.

message 14: by Vickie (last edited Jul 10, 2013 06:29PM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 21: Voices of Courage: Inspiration from Survivors of Sexual Assault. Best piece of non-fiction I ever read. Note: Read back in February.

message 15: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 22 just finished: Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #1) by Maya Banks . Best so far by Banks.

message 16: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 23: Highlander Most Wanted (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs, #2) by Maya Banks . Loved every minute of it.

message 17: by Trinity (new)

Trinity Good Luck!!! Hope you can reach it :)

message 18: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 24: Vision in White (Bride Quartet, #1) by Nora Roberts . This is the first of a series and I'm in love with the series after reading this first book. What an amazing read.

message 19: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 25: Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth . Started it Thursday night and just finished it. All 487 wonderful pages of it.

message 20: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 26: Bed of Roses. Amazing sequel to a great book. Started on the third in the quartet this morning.

message 21: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments 27: Savor the Moment (Bride Quartet, #3) by Nora Roberts
28: Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth

message 22: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments 29: Happy Ever After (Bride Quartet, #4) by Nora Roberts this one was pretty mediocre compared to the first three but it tied off any loose ends. Overall only three stars.
30: Eve of Darkness (Marked, #1) by S.J. Day All I can say is much, much better than 50 Shades in writing and plot.

message 23: by Vickie (last edited Aug 31, 2013 09:01AM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments So originally I was going for 100 books, but now that I have a full-time job and have a lot less free time I feel as though I need to lower the amount otherwise I'll feel terrible with myself for not meeting my quota. So now I'm aiming for 55, hopefully I can surpass that but we'll see.

Vickie | 33 comments Book 31: Eve of Destruction (Marked, #2) by S.J. Day . I'm so caught up in this series right now, love them so much.

message 25: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 32: Eve of Chaos (Marked, #3) by S.J. Day . What a spectacular ending. But now I'm left wanting more, and aside from two short novellas there isn't more. Pity.

message 26: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 33: The Inconvenient Duchess (The Radwells #1) by Christine Merrill . I just love cheesy romance novels (and movies) such as this.

message 27: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 34: The Mistletoe Wager by Christine Merrill . While I liked it because of the cheesy romance, I was extremely exasperated by the characters and their idiocy when it came to communication. How hard is it to say "I love you and I want you back?" Not very but the characters here sure had a fun time misunderstanding one another.

message 28: by Vickie (last edited Dec 08, 2013 03:52PM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Books 35 Rush (Breathless, #1) by Maya Banks , 36 Fever (Breathless, #2) by Maya Banks , and 37 Burn (Breathless, #3) by Maya Banks . Okay so I've rated them. The first book I gave 3/5 because I love the author's writing and previous works. I like the main characters, the sex is steamy, but the dialogue is lacking. I found Maya Banks to be a great author when I read her Scottish series but the dialogue in these books is crap. The main characters in each of the books are okay, but any secondary characters are lacking. The first book centers around Mia and Gabe and I liked them well enough but whenever Mia appears in the other two books her dialogue is out of character. I was highly disappointed with this series.

message 29: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 38: A Secret Proposal (Secret Brides, #1.5) by Valerie Bowman . It was pleasant and I rather liked the characters in this short read.

message 30: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 39: The Fairest Beauty (Fairy Tales, #3) by Melanie Dickerson . A very wonderful retelling of Snow White. I just love the characters and their dilemmas. Definitely one of my favourites.

message 31: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 40: To Have and to Hold (Bridal Veil Island, # 1) by Tracie Peterson .
Book 41: To Love and Cherish (Bridal Veil Island, # 2) by Tracie Peterson .
A cute series about love on Bridal Veil Island off the coast of Georgia. God-centered relationships and some non-stereotypical drama. Not your average romance, but they were pleasant books for my boring days at work.

message 32: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 42: Secrets of a Wedding Night (Secret Brides, #1) by Valerie Bowman . I enjoyed the sequel (which I read first), but this one didn't hod my interest. Kind of a let-down.

message 33: by Vickie (last edited Dec 05, 2013 06:07AM) (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Okay so technically there's more than one book but since they were about 10 pages each I'm going to list these eBooks as one. So number 43: Ever After High Raven Queen's Story by Shannon Hale , Ever After High Briar Beauty's Story by Shannon Hale , Ever After High Apple White's Story by Shannon Hale , Ever After High Madeline Hatter's Story by Shannon Hale , Ever After High Ashlynn Ella's Story by Shannon Hale , and Ever After High Hunter Huntsman's Story by Shannon Hale .

message 34: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments Book 44: Heiress Without a Cause (Muses of Mayfair, #1) by Sara Ramsey . Loved this book, the characters were great and the love match was everything I could have hoped for. Already started reading the second installment to the series.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Good luck: )

Keep going. You are almost halfway there: )

message 36: by Vickie (new)

Vickie | 33 comments 45: Scotsmen Prefer Blondes (Muses of Mayfair, #2) by Sara Ramsey my love for Scottish men has been reignited.

46: Ever After High The Storybook of Legends by Shannon Hale I am pleasantly surprised o how much I am liking this series.

47: Abducted Heiress (Secret Clan, #1) by Amanda Scott So this one I bought as a trilogy on sale through Google Play Books and I couldn't finish it. I hate not finishing books but this was so dreadfully boring I threw it aside after I forced myself to read halfway through it.

48: The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan I regret not reading this sooner because I'm hooked.
