The Post Card Exchange discussion

Hopefully someone has added this group to his/her update feed, so that at least some might read this.

I'd love to reanimate this group, but to do so I need you guys. So, if you're still interested in sending post cards to each other, reply to this thread.

I LOVE the postcards that I get from Melanie every month. I would be quite desolate without them. It makes my day when I see the colourful envelope from the Netherlands lying on the floor of my hallway :)

For me, searching for a poem to send is as much fun as getting them.

I know sometimes it's hard to remember to send something and maybe twice a month is too often but I still like the idea...

I would love to be in a group like this. I joined ages ago and occasionally get an email/update that there is a new post. I have not recieved any responses to my emails in the past but if the group is open to new people, I would be very interested.

Well I send cards to Melanie and she sends them to me. We seem to be the only people who do it now. I agree with Melanie regarding the two a month (I often forget to send two) and tend to only send one now.

I would happily send to other people too. What do you think Melanie? There was another comment above from Brandi who was interested too. It would be a pleasure for me to send one to Melanie and another to someone else.

I like the idea. Maybe anyone who's still interested in this group should write a message and the we can sort out who will be sending to who...and then just give the adres to just the person who you're writing with.
Because I think Michaela won't come back to help us ;)

Michaela used to organize adresses. But I never see her around her.So maybe the best is to exchange adresses ourselves.Or everyone who is still interested in participating gives his/her adress to one of us and someone of us will do Michaela's job ;)

That's a good idea.

So how many people are there interested? Me, Melanie, Rachel and Mary? What we usually done was send all our addresses to Michaela and she would disseminate them to each person, but since no one has heard from her......I think Melanie's suggestion is the best one. Send addresses to one of us and we will give you ours then we can postcard away?!! :)

Does everyone want to recieve from the same person each time? It sounds like like that is what you were doing, which is fine. Or put everyone on a list and each month the sender would get the next person down the list so it is a different person each time?

I'm wondering those things too.

The way we used to do it was like this: Michaela kept all the adresses and made 'couples' out of us. So yes, we always sent poems to the same person. I myself wouldn't mind to switch buddy from time to time but I prefer an adress inside the EU because of the postal charges.

Why don't we start a list with our name, where we are and if we would like to mail everywhere or stay within our own country.
I will go first.

(1)I am Rachel. I live in the washington D.C. area and would love to mail anywhere.

2. It's me,Melanie,the Netherlands and I prefer to mail within the EU.

3. I am Peregrine, in Canada, and will mail anywhere.

Also, it seems like it might be tricky to fit a whole poem on most postcards so I'm probably going to be sending my favorite bits of poems (hopefully it'll make you look up the entire poem though!).
