Yup! I love Lincoln-Douglas because of the simple fact that it doesn't focus on one certain kind of testimony. A debate case, no matter what kind, is nothing without evidence. It requires the evidence found in policy debate and the emotional connections found in original oratory speeches. However, it is neither of these things. Lincoln-Douglas addresses both the logical side of things and the ethical aspects as well.
It's a one-on-one debate style. It's an event in the National Forensic League. I don't know much about it...Apoorva would be the one to ask.
Not if you count Congress as a debate event. Congress has questioning periods but it is not cross examination as there are no two distinct sides.
Extemp doesn't? Wow, I was under the wrong impression. :) I really don't know WHAT to consider Congress...it's so much different than other events.

Congress is actually a lot of fun. :) I do some of that as well.
