Wild Things: YA Grown-Up discussion

Did any of you read this? I remember listening to this in the car on a road trip with my kids and laughing hysterically. Just bought this in a 3-in-1 version with Howliday Inn and The Celery Stalks at Midnight. My TBR shelf seems to double itself every few days now....

I read these when I was pretty young. While not my favorites, they definitely creeped me out. But I didn't like reading things that scared me so that would explain my lukewarm feelings. I grew up in a creaky old house with banging pipes and trees scratching the windows (in the Bronx) so I really didn't need anything to help me be scared. But they were fun. I think I read at least 4 of them.

I didn't think they were scary, even as a kid. I thought they were funny. I know I read The Celery Stalks, but don't remember Howliday. My children still have Bunnicula on their shelf:)

I love the Bunnicula series! I actually just reread them last month. I really enjoyed them as a kid, and I still think they're very cute and funny. I think Howie (who doesn't make an appearance until the end of the second / beginning of the third book) is absolutely hilarious with all of his puns! You'll have to let us know what you think of them when you finish rereading.

I didn't know anyone besides myself had read those books! I just loved the puzzled reactions of the family as they woke up to white tomatoes. :)

Oh I LOVE Bunnicula!!! I just reread it last year, I forgot how much I loved these.

I was trying to decide on a fantasy for next year's lit. circles class that I will be teaching for 4-6th graders. I think this one might be a great choice. I try to pick books of different genres, but they can't be too long (otherwise I would do Phantom Tollbooth!) I have to pick it up and read it cuz I don't think I ever have (although one or more of my kids may have years ago). Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah, it's a whole series. I just got Bunnicula Strikes Again! at a book sale for like 50¢ the other day.

I read these years ago. Loved them. Really keep a young readers interest. The characters are a blast!

I just read Bunnicula: A Rabbit - Tale of Mystery earlier this week and loved it. I thought the steak part was really funny.

I seriously need to reread this--I don't even remember a steak!

Also I just realized I reread this a year and a half ago. My memory is bad.

I finally read this book, not sure why I've never picked it up before, but it was so good! No wonder my kids love this series. :)

I loved Bunnicula as a kid! I haven't read them in ages though. Our on-going challenge for November is J/MG books, these would be perfect!

I was just Bunnicula for Halloween. Easy costume haha. I'll post a picture when I get them from my fiance's camera.

Oh, I definitely had to explain it. Not only what I was, but who Bunnicula was. They just thought I had made it up, which made me kind of sad.
