Susan (mrsfun) | 89 comments Did any of you read this? I remember listening to this in the car on a road trip with my kids and laughing hysterically. Just bought this in a 3-in-1 version with Howliday Inn and The Celery Stalks at Midnight. My TBR shelf seems to double itself every few days now....

Alexis (alexabexis) I read these when I was pretty young. While not my favorites, they definitely creeped me out. But I didn't like reading things that scared me so that would explain my lukewarm feelings. I grew up in a creaky old house with banging pipes and trees scratching the windows (in the Bronx) so I really didn't need anything to help me be scared. But they were fun. I think I read at least 4 of them.

message 3: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I didn't think they were scary, even as a kid. I thought they were funny. I know I read The Celery Stalks, but don't remember Howliday. My children still have Bunnicula on their shelf:)

Bird (thebird) I love the Bunnicula series! I actually just reread them last month. I really enjoyed them as a kid, and I still think they're very cute and funny. I think Howie (who doesn't make an appearance until the end of the second / beginning of the third book) is absolutely hilarious with all of his puns! You'll have to let us know what you think of them when you finish rereading.

Frances Davidson (freakfornature) | 1 comments I didn't know anyone besides myself had read those books! I just loved the puzzled reactions of the family as they woke up to white tomatoes. :)

Tahleen | 229 comments Oh I LOVE Bunnicula!!! I just reread it last year, I forgot how much I loved these.

message 7: by Linda (new)

Linda I was trying to decide on a fantasy for next year's lit. circles class that I will be teaching for 4-6th graders. I think this one might be a great choice. I try to pick books of different genres, but they can't be too long (otherwise I would do Phantom Tollbooth!) I have to pick it up and read it cuz I don't think I ever have (although one or more of my kids may have years ago). Thanks for the inspiration!

Misty | 1505 comments I never read these, but I remember wanting to really badly because I fell in love with the titles. The Celery Stalks at Midnight? Come on.

message 9: by Misty (new)

Misty | 1505 comments Yeah, it's a whole series. I just got Bunnicula Strikes Again! at a book sale for like 50¢ the other day.

A. (aekirk) | 16 comments I read these years ago. Loved them. Really keep a young readers interest. The characters are a blast!

Eden Silverfox (tsalagi_writer) | 265 comments I just read Bunnicula: A Rabbit - Tale of Mystery earlier this week and loved it. I thought the steak part was really funny.

message 12: by Tahleen (new)

Tahleen | 229 comments I seriously need to reread this--I don't even remember a steak!

Also I just realized I reread this a year and a half ago. My memory is bad.

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments I finally read this book, not sure why I've never picked it up before, but it was so good! No wonder my kids love this series. :)

I loved Bunnicula as a kid! I haven't read them in ages though. Our on-going challenge for November is J/MG books, these would be perfect!

Tahleen | 229 comments I was just Bunnicula for Halloween. Easy costume haha. I'll post a picture when I get them from my fiance's camera.

That's fun, Tahleen. Did people know who you were or did you have to explain it?

message 17: by Tahleen (new)

Tahleen | 229 comments Oh, I definitely had to explain it. Not only what I was, but who Bunnicula was. They just thought I had made it up, which made me kind of sad.

Aww, that is sad.
