Mark Rayner (markarayner) | 1 comments Hi folks,

I hope it's not too out of line to make a couple of suggestions for the group to consider as reads. The first is one that some of you may have encountered already, by Richard Brautigan: In Watermelon Sugar. It's an imaginative, dark, funny tale set in a weird post-apocalyptic society called iDeath. And yes, there are talking tigers.

The other is one of my own efforts, The Fridgularity, which is a satire of the technological singularity in which the Internet becomes self-aware and only wants to talk to one guy through his web-enabled fridge. (It also locks us all out of the Net and all our technology connected to it -- a disaster, not only for our economy, but also for everyone addicted to their social media.)
