Here is where you can recommend books for newbies to the fantasy genre. Please make sure all fantasy books are YA only!

I'd check out Amalie Howard's titles (http://amaliehoward.com). She's got a great take on some different types of fantasy out there that are refreshing (plus she's so much fun as an author).

Sue Duff is good, too. I saw her at ComicCon last year, and she brought in a magician for her booth signing to tie in with the magic in her story. She has the Weir Chronicles series: http://sueduff.com
