I read the book in like one day and I have to say I loved it! it was a great way to end the series it sucks that its finished I wish we could know more after it ended!!! I hear there will be a trilogy about Jonathan I'm pretty exited to read it... but anyway back to out of breath I just loved it and I fell in love with Evan all over again I liked the new characters aswell it was a rollercoaster ride of emotions for me reading the book I'm so reading the series again lol
Definitely a rollercoaster, Cassie. I feel bad saying this, because I loved this series and I really enjoy Rebecca's writing (so be easy on me), but I just got so fed up with Emma in this last book. O. M. G. She was just out of control. And the random Jonathan thing where she overhears that he's in town and tries to track him down?... Ugh. But I did enjoy the roommates and other new characters, I like the way the relationships progressed, and I like that it wasn't unbelievable in how they handle their issues. Definitely a good end to the series. And yeah, Tammi, we always want more. But I'm sure they'll be together forever. And Cassie, the Jonathan series?.... I'm not sure yet. He's definitely messed up, and I have a hard time loving him. Not sure if I'd love a series where I'm supposed to like him as the main character. I'm sure he has redeeming qualities, but...... Anyone else with me on that?? (:
Leslie yes I kind of agree with the whole Emma thing she did get on my nerves at time with her drinking and her actions and yes the whole Jonathan thing was awkward but I guess it was needed for her to get closure. I did love the characters but Payton got on my nerves so much she was just annoying to me idk if you felt the same way on her. and as for the Jonathan series I'm actually interested in it like I hope the books start as him as a child and what lead to him to do the things he did and then up to him netting Rachel and his point of view of "barley breathing" and it lead up to where he decided to turn himself in and stuff I thing it would be a good story to really find out why he was that way well thats just MPO on Jonathan's trilogy.. BTW have you read heart on a chain?

I agree with Leslie too. This book was rather disappointing:( I really loved the other books, and Emma was annoying in them, but I tolerated her. In this book she became too much. I couldn't like a book, where the main character was so... broken. (in the annoying way)I felt so bad for Evan...
Shannon you could try Heart on a Chain. I can't remember who the author is, but it is somewhat similar.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...I NEED MORE EMMA *cries* I cant do this right now guys...I just cant...*sobs* I wanted to see a wedding...(do you think they will get married??!!?!)
I would of also liked to know what happens in the future marriage kids who actually stays together who doesn't and what's happens with Emma and her grandmother and Jonathan uhh I miss these characters
I think Jonathan was a totally random character. isnt he like 26 and emma is like 17 or 18. But on the other hand there wouldn't be a third book without Jonathan
I looooooooooooooooooved the series!!! I am going through withdrawls. What on earth does someone read after that??? How can anything compare?? I would soooo love to read more of Emma and Evan....I need more....
Yes I agree we need more!!! and yes Jonathan was random but I think he would make a great story!!! oooh if you are having withdrawals which is understandable try heart on a chain uhhhh you'll love it but it's a standalone book so you'll go through withdrawals bit it's so worth it I loved that book
I know this group hasn't been active since 2015 BUT I just joined and hope that chats will start again. I loved Out of Breath, I just finished the trilogy for the second time... I think the third book was probably my favorite, We thought Emma had hit rock bottom in the first book cause of the abusive relationship with her aunt, but man... The third book she was a downward spiral, and to see how her friends and Evan did nothing but try to pull her back up is amazing. I loved Emma and Evans relationship in the third book, It was almost like they had met again for the first time and were falling back in love all over again. It was love that everyone asks for. Evans main priority was Emma and never let anything get in the way of him showing her that, and ensuring they can trust each other again but opening up and being honest. Loved this book, I will probably read the trilogy again since I can't get enough of it. I'm weary about Jonathans story, I'm not sure if I will like it since I didn't enjoy his character too much in the second book probably because Rebecca didn't create him to make us like him. But I will definitely read it to see what his character is all about.
Hey! I just became a new fan and love the breathing series! Hopefully we will see my favorite three characters Emma Sarah and Evan again in Jonathan's story but hopefully in their futures not their presence or past. I didn't see that Sarah and Emma had more time together after Sarah talk to Evan through what Emma was going through. I expect they would text or something. Can anybody tell me what that was?
