Heard (read) somewhere that for the purpose of writing children books, a European writer did psychological research to know what colors should be used for illustrations to attract children when reading. Do you know whether they did any research from this aspect for web sites like this one?

It's true that they (mat sallehs) take children's books seriously. Perhaps you can search on Axel Scheffler, the German guy mentioned by Bayan in that entry.
