Yes, there are aspects of Julian that seem supernatural. That's one of the things I loved about this book. Julian was real although with Daniel's first glimpses of him, he seems like a ghost. You find out later he's a real person.



I remember the nun stating on p. 479 that Julian had visited Jacinta 2 weeks before Daniel and Bea got married, and also stated that she hadn't heard Jacinta laugh for years. Yet, NO mention of a scarred face!
And what about when Julian visited Daniel in the hospital? He (D) 'returned' the fountain pen to Julian, but no-one saw Julian at any time? Hmmmm.....
