Sue | 57 comments Remember Julian was burned while trying to get rid of his books? How is it that he went to see Jacinta toward the end of SOTW, and the nun didn't see his scarred face?

I remember the nun stating on p. 479 that Julian had visited Jacinta 2 weeks before Daniel and Bea got married, and also stated that she hadn't heard Jacinta laugh for years. Yet, NO mention of a scarred face!

And what about when Julian visited Daniel in the hospital? He (D) 'returned' the fountain pen to Julian, but no-one saw Julian at any time? Hmmmm.....

Yes, there are aspects of Julian that seem supernatural. That's one of the things I loved about this book. Julian was real although with Daniel's first glimpses of him, he seems like a ghost. You find out later he's a real person.

Sue | 57 comments I remember that Daniel was taken aback by Julian's face, when illuminated by a match.

Am sure that anyone seeing Julian would remember the scars!
