Discuss books in Spanish or about Spanish.

I checked out Basic Conversational Spanish by Gregory G LaGrone from the library and I had a question. My copy was published in 1963, do you think that that will get in the way? Do you think that the language has changed a lot since then? Will I, if I continue with the book, learn a Spanish that will seem "incorrect" in today's use?

I am not sure. They probably just added slang to it. I am sure you will be fine.

Okay, thanks!

Anne (mekone) I think my book was called something like "Get by in Spanish", but if I make a new start I'll definitely try something a bit more cheerful. Gray paper and no illustrations at all makes learning a bit dull in my opinion.

Hey, you guys! How do you get the accents in the comments?

Veronica (v_a_b) alt codes. :D Some laptops can't do those, but you have an inspiron 1720, so you should be able to. As long as num lock is turned on. Just hold down alt and then press the number on the keypad.

alt130=é
alt138=è
alt133=à

most of them are between 130 and 160ish. Those three are ones that I remember, because they are the most useful to me. As well as alt 135, but I don't think ç is used in spanish.
