I might start tomorrow if I have time. I have a really long car ride ahead of me tomorrow and Friday.
So I started it yesterday, finished today. I thought it was pretty boring until the last fifty or so pages. I really didn't see the end coming at all!
Still haven't finished this. It's not as exciting as I had hoped but I can change my mind if things look up.
I'm only in Chapter 7.Is it just me or I'm feeling a little bit of infodump with the Settler stuff here? I still have a lot of questions but I hope somehow, some of it will be answered. Like who are the descendants of these Settlers? Do these dead people immediately go to a certain Settler when they die (if they have an unfinished business)? Don't the Settlers have some sort of power to interpret what the humans see when they encounter a zombie? Just like in the PJO series with the Mist. The conflict here is someone is summoning in Carol's track but I don't feel the rush to know, yet and that's bad :|
Still, good thing Megan still has her dad! I mean wouldn't he freak out? Most paranormal books I've read have divorced parents.
My brain hurts! Trying to process the events. Why is Megan such a typical teenager? Her Settler powers are wasted on her!
I think the zombies just go the closest Settler with their shields down.I agree. Megan was HORRIBLE!
Yes, and for a heroine she's so whiny. I know her powers are strong but she's a bit weak still, and not much transformation happened to her. I've never read a book this predictable. I have guessed everything right, and for the parts that I didn't, there was no shock that came from me.Actually, with the ending, I would've thought this is a standalone. I think it's a relief there's no cliffhanger but I could've used hints for what will happen in book two. I think I'll still read it but not setting it in my priority...
Three stars for mild entertainment but I could really use more information about the world building or the Settler stuff.
