I loved "Plain Truth", "The Pact" and "Keeping Faith"! I am not a fan of chick lit either and do not find Picoult's books to fit in that genre! She has great suspense in her stories that keeps you reading! Enjoy!
She is not chick lit, no, although I can see why you might think so from the book covers. I've only read Vanishing Point and hated it, so I wouldn't go there and it's put me off reading any more of hers. People seem to like Her Sister's Keeper.
Maybe as so many of us seem to like Jodi Picoult, me included, we should have a buddy read of one of her novels? I have Lone Wolf waiting to be read, if anyone fancies a read along some time?
I read quite a few of her books. All of them touch on a serious topic. The ones mentioned are good. I would also reccomend Ninteen Minutes and Salem Falls.
Thank you all, I have so much to read without adding a new author! But if anything ever comes up at a good price for Kindle, then it's handy to know to pick them up for future reading, so I really appreciate everyone feeding back to me.
I would be up for reading any of her books that I haven't read yet! Lone Wolf and Nineteen Minutes are at the top of my Picoult reading list!
Depending on how many people would be interested, we could schedule a buddy read for perhaps September?
Oh yes, a buddy read would be a dream come true for me. I have quite a few of hers that are just sitting on my shelf right now.
We can do this two ways - either all read the same one or we all read a JP novel of our choice and review it. I have Lone Wolf and House Rules here. I'll probably read Lone Wolf.
The ones I haven't read (and own) are Lone Wolf, The Storyteller and Mercy. I think I would be able to get my hands on House Rules. I haven't read Picture Perfect either, but I haven't heard great things about it so I'd probably not go for that one.
I'm setting up a thread in the Read Along section, entitled Jodi Picoult. For those of us intending to read one of her novels, sign up there and say which one you intend to read. I think, because she's written so many, it's going to be hard to narrow it down to just one book, so we'll probably end up discussing several of them.Link here http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
I thought my sister's keeper was really good, and I'm waiting to begin Nineteen minutes, Lone Wolf and the Storyteller too!
I am part of the Jodi Picoult group on here and I noticed one of their threads has been semi-active. Mind if I post a link to this read-along opportunity there?
I have read a number of books by her. I'm currently reading The Pact, I think I would call my guilty pleasure author as most of her books seem to follow the same plot-line but I always seem to go back to her.
I liked Nineteen Minutes, Keeping Faith, Plain Truth, House Rules and Salem Falls the best (particularly Nineteen Minutes).
So I finished Lone Wolf. The review I wrote contains quite a few spoilers, so don't read it until you're done with the book. I want to try and finish two of the other selected reads I have lined up for October and then I will tackle The Storyteller. How is everybody else doing with their Picoult novels?
Just finished The Storyteller and could not have loved it more despite its very sad historical plot.
I've just finished The Storyteller - I think I've read nearly all her books now, and I really enjoyed it, although of course I agree about the sad historical plot. I thought it was really well handled, kind of a different angle.

I see her popping up now all over the place in the context of being a bit more "serious" so wondered whether I should give her a go. Any recommendations to start off please?
