Jessie Radford (ladysdeath) I don't know about everyone else in the group. But sometimes I run out of ideas for new books to read. Of course we can get recommendations from the site. But I prefer a suggestion from a living breathing person, who can give me a hint of what makes it great. So who has any book suggestions, any genre new or old, series or not?

message 2: by Carmen (new)

Carmen Left to Die by Lisa Jackson
Thriller, 1st of this series

The Body Finder series by Kimberly Derting :) The Body Finder Desires of the Dead The Last Echo and Dead Silence I haven't read Dead Silence yet, but the first three are amazing!

message 4: by Jessie (new)

Jessie Radford (ladysdeath) I recently received The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and from what I've heard about the movie. I'm just alittle scared to read it. hehe

Jacy (jazabell) | 73 comments The girl with the dragon tattoo was a good book. I really enjoyed the whole series. That being said it's a little difficult to get into, but if you stick it out, well worth the read!

What about the Hobbit? I started it but couldn't get past the 1st chapter. It's sooooooooo boring!

hehe I understand what your saying Sabrina, I can say however that the LOTR series is the closest I've seen detail wise between the movies and the books. So your pretty much getting the same. I did finish it in middle school however. I think Girl with the Dragon tattoos may sit on my book shelf for awhile til my morbid curiousty gets the best of me. But I did receive Blue Bloods in the mail today. If you haven't heard of it, it's a great read. young adult novel, gives a different twist on vampires.

Simon Yip | 1 comments "Hold my hand" by Durjoy Datta.

The story is about a young man who is obsessed with libraries an books. He was sent to Hong Kong on an internship programme, which was his first flight to a foreign land away from his overprotective mom. He then fell in love with a stunningly beautiful who is blind. Together they explored the city with smells and sounds.

Asiyah (vvanderess) | 327 comments Okay here are my suggestions:

Perfect Chemistry- Romance

Divergent-I literally feel like I'm the only person on the planet who hasn't read this book...but figured I might as well suggest it for the group. What do I have to lose ;)

The Lost Prince-Paranormal, Romance (It kind of goes along with the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa. You don't have to have read The Iron Fey but it would definitely help while your reading this and explain alot.)

The Future of Us-This was suggested to me by one of my friends on Goodreads. There's good and bad reviews but it sounds interesting to me so I thought we could check it out as a group!

Aw that story sounds so sweet :). That last bit about a beautiful girl being blind reminded me of this book called Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements. It's about this kid who turns invisible (since it's Mr. Clements, you know it's funny HOW the kid turns invisible) and the first person he gets to believe and help him is a blind girl. Ironic huh? GREAT book. I loved it.

I'm going to have to add it to my list of reads. Maybe we can start a group read on here for it. If enough people agree.

Slated by Teri Terry in love with the book right now.

Amy (readalotsleepyhead) (readalotsleepyhead) | 55 comments Partials by Dan Wells: It's the first in the trilogy and it's AMAZING. It's ya dystopia, but it's really really good. Basically the human population has been reduced to about 40,000 by a genetically engineered virus called RM believed to be released by Partials (genetically enhanced humans who were created to fight a war for america and are pretty much biological killing machines). However RM has also killed EVERY BABY BORN SINCE within three days so they really need a cure. And there's a thing called the 'Hope Act' which means that all women must get continually pregnant once they turn 18 in the hope a baby will survive. And so this girl called Kira who's a 16 year old medical intern is really determined to find a cure. And tit's so so so so good. Some people think it's dragged out and way too long but personally I like lots of detail and I read it in a couple of days. The sequel, Fragments is also amazing and I can't wait for the last one Ruins which comes out next year :D
