Anastasia Abboud (anastasiaabboud) Has anyone enjoyed John Muir's "The Yosemite"? He writes with such intimacy, such familiarity of that beautiful place. Does anyone have recommendations for modern works concerning the Sierra Nevada or the Rockies?

Ginny Yttrup (ginnyyttrup) | 1 comments I'm a big fan of John Muir's writing. I re-read The Yosemite and others several months ago as I researched my current novel which is set in Yosemite.

Are you familiar with Sierra magazine? Gorgeous photos and some well written articles.

Roy (newenglandhiker) | 6 comments Muir's are the classics, including his _The Mountains of California_. The book _The Last Season_ by Eric Blehm was published in 2006 and is set in the Sierra.

Anastasia Abboud (anastasiaabboud) Ginny, thank you for the magazine recommendation. Also, I am interested in your writing; clearly, I am not the only one! Congratulations on such well-received publications! Your current novel, the one set in Yosemite, is not published yet, is it?

Anastasia Abboud (anastasiaabboud) Roy, thanks for the great suggestion! I did not know Morgenson's story.
