(what exactly do the cohorts do?)

Chase was a little nervous walking up to the first cohort. He was glad he had Kristi's hand because he squeezed it trying to reassure himself.

"I-it's ok" she said while walking nervous

"I know. Remember no getting angry." Chase reminded her.

People gasped and some faces turned red. "Now everyone shut up! Listen to me. You can't keep us away from each other. It's just cruel and I'm gonna be with him and I don't care if you like it or not!" She said trying not to get mad

Chase squeezed her hand again trying yo keep her calm. He didn't say anything because she covered it

Brad walked up again and glared at them "you didn't listen to me Kristi! You can't trust him! You barely know him!" He yelled.

Chase instinctively moved Kristi so that she was standing behind him. This guy had started off yelling, which means he could be violent and there was no way Chase was going to let Kristi get hurt. "That's the point of dating someone though. You find out who they really are"

"You're a son of Neptune you're out numbered you're an odd child!" He yelled again. Kristi took his arm "don't listen to him" she whispered

"Aren't we all odd children? We have God's for parents. And don't you remember when Percy was in camp? His cohort was greatly outnumbered and they one. Also he brought the eagle back" Chase replied calmly.

Brad rolled his eyes and walked away. "Lets go before he changes his mind" she said trying to sound calm but her words were shaky and she was trembling

"Okay" Chase agreed turning to her so that they could leave.

She walked out quickly

"Was that so bad?" Chase asked wrapping his arms around her

"No" she wanted to say she was scared but he couldn't show weakness at camp. Not even in front of him

"You want to go back to our place?" Chase asked sensing that something was wrong

Jade lay on her back on her top bunk listening to the conversation.

"Sure" her eyes trailed off, because that's what she does wen she tries to become back to her calm/leader personality.

Chase kissed her on the cheek and took her hand leading her to the border. "Come on just have to cross the river"

Jade was scraping the crusted mud from the bottom of her boots. She had almost lost them in the mud pit that day.

Jade jumped down to the ground and started for the armory. She needed her sword cleaned.

oliver jumped onto his bunk
