is the name of a famous fictional bullfighter. He's a dreamboat, and also dies. So much of the book makes more sense now. I really should have looked this up sooner.

Heh, I guess that's one of those indicators that it's not a NEW book. Possibly, people who read it back in the 30s would have all just known that. She calls him that, pretty much from then on in all the other books too.

It is from Carmen. So, I mean, it's not totally bonkers that I would know who that is. But, I didn't. Like I said, I really should have looked it up sooner. It all comes together now!
