The Mystery, Crime, and Thriller Group discussion

Friends, I'm currently working on launching my third novel, Cogar's Revolt. Since this is my third book, I wanted to do something different. Something fun.

I've given a lot of thought to using Kickstarter, and after carefully weighing my options, decided to give it a try. Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: First, I'd like to organize a launch party here in Des Moines with cocktails, hors d'ouvres, live music, and a signed copy of the book for each attendee. Not everyone is from Des Moines, I realize. But you can still be a part of the launch by signing up to purchase a copy of the new book in either eBook format (.mobi only) or in trade paperback, which I'll happily sign before mailing out. For those unfamiliar with Kickstarter, I have only 30 days to reach my fundraising goal, and if it falls short, you don't pay a penny.
