These books are amazing. I've only read them twice, but I'm planning to re-read them sometime soon. I first read them in 2008. My favourite character is Silk although I love them all and I really just loved the books. I've really excited to re-read them because it has been a couple years since I read them and I no longer remember everything that happened. :) What did you think of them?

I am in LOVE with the series. My father owns all the books and introduced them to me. I wouldn't put them down the whole time i read them. I have read the series twice, but not for a long while, i want to reread it too. I also LOVE Silk!!! He is such a fantastic character. And of course I love Polgara, especially after i read the book specially about here. It was great!

Ha ha yes Silk is fabulous but I loved Uncle Beldin and Polgara was fab. I've read them multiple times over the years. Before my son was born in 2010, the names 'Belgarion' and 'Riva Iron-Grip' were on my shortlist of names:-) No joke!

I remember picking up 'Pawn of Prophecy'at a car boot/jumble sale because the cover looked interesting. They say 'never judge a book by it's cover' but I have found some very good magical reads over the years by doing just that. The 'Septimus Heap' series by Angie Sage, the 'Stravaganza' series by Mary Hoffman, the 'Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flammel' series by Michael Scott, the 'Obernewtyn' series by Isobelle Carmody and the 'Children of the Lamp' series by PB Kerr. All because they had interesting covers:-)
I had an argument with my brother yesterday. It went like this:
Me: The Belgariad is SO better than Lord of the Rings.
Brother: Are you kidding? Of course LOtR is better!
Me: LOtR is boring. The Belgariad is not. It's simple, really.
Brother: Whatever.
Silk is awesome! Ce'Nedra was annoying at first and I liked Garion better but that changed! Read these two times. And Uncle Beldin...

Belgariad is better. LOTR is epic but it's incredibly full of itself and hard to read.
You're right. LOtR movies ARE pretty good, though. You know, even though David Eddings was very firm in telling them NOT to make a movie of The Belgariad, moviemakers will.

I'm not sure how I would feel about a Belgariad movie. I think it would ruin it, since the books are SO FANTASTIC! and movies are never the same.

Yeah. That is true. They'd ruin it and press it into a 2 hour movie.
Just reread the first five books. They are so good. Very open, honest and funny. Such great books to read and enjoy!
The Belgariad is in my top-1-list. I don't remember how many time I’ve reread the serie AND The Malloreon AND the Belgarath and Polgara books at least 5-7 times. Now I want to read them in English too, and get my hand on my own copies of all the books. I've reread them so much that my mom lets me have them in my room. A comment I remember reading on Reddit is that every people is stereotypical: every drasnian (sorry if it's wrong) is in some way part of the spy network, every cherek is either beefy or blond and so on. And before I read it, I didn't even think of it!
