Dex walked through the area with his hands shoved deep in his pockets and a freshly lit cigarette hanging from his pursed lips. Though this may have been an exceptionally clean and fresh area, Dex had never really had much concern for the environment. And even if he had, the world was shot to hell anyways; it wasn't like one cigarette was going to make much of a difference. Walking lazily along, Dex peeked open his right eye to gaze upon the leisurely activities most people in this area were participating in. He didn't care much for them - never had and never will - but they were at least somewhat entertaining to gaze upon. Or at least, it was when some poor guy got hit in the head with a Frisbee. That had resulted in a slight chuckle from Dex. However, this only interested him for a while as he soon grew tired of watching exchanges he wasn't welcome in. Coming upon a simple tree, he slumped against the trunk, taking a drag on his cigarette. The taste - albeit bitter and vile - was familiar on his tongue. Nothing but the kick of alcohol could ever compare to that.
Willow soon walked on the park grass near the water. She has never been to the park before but she wanted to give it a shot. She looked around as she looked at everything flammable. She loved fire, even though it killed her parents and all. She stood up and watched a man get hit by a frisbee and giggled. It was foolish yet funny how humans were. She walked around the park, smiling at every funny moment the humans made. She saw a willow tree and smiled more. Soon she went to it and leaned down, not noticing the boy on the other tree. Soon Willow cuddled in a ball as her legs went near her and her chin rested on her chin. She soon wrapped her arms around her legs and sighed.
Dex didn't really notice the girl's presence either. In reality, he was far too concerned with what was going on inside everyone else's head than his own. This place wasn't exactly good for him - too many thoughts coming at him at once - but like the rebellious spirit he was, Dex was trying to override what everyone else was thinking. He felt that he didn't need to hide out by himself all the time. Sure, it was always something he looked forward to and didn't mind much, but he wanted to build up his resistance to hearing everyone's thoughts. So far though, that was proving near impossible. Opening his eyes for a split second, Dex drew his cigarette from his mouth and carelessly threw it to the side. Though it could have been a bad decision, it wasn't any different than the ones he made on a daily basis.
Willow glanced at the boy for a quick seeing, she noticed the cigarrete he carelessy threw away. Her eyes followed the cigar as it rolled to another tree, not hitting the willow or near it. She sighed than looked ahead at the sky. She felt the Willow's leaves flow around her. Soon she sighed and looked at the cigar, still alive. She saw a insect go near it as she used her powers, not making any motions, to see the thing on fire. The insect soon lit up, like a little fire. She chuckled than made the cigar flame out, no more amber or fire to cause a tree to light. She wouldn't really do that but she didn't want to risk the willow.
As soon as the cigarette had hit the ground, Dex's eyes had closed. Though a second later, he reopened one slightly and looked back to it to see if it had gone out. Even if he didn't care whether or not it caused the environment to degrade, he still didn't want his own tree to catch on fire. What an unfortunate death that would spell out for him. His eyes had stayed on the cigarette and, to his surprise, he saw the way that it flamed up a minute later. His other eyes fluttered opened as he stared at in it confused awe, trying to figure out what it was that just happened. As soon as it had flamed up, it was out again. His eyes went to the girl sitting under the willow tree and he raised a suspicious eyebrow, wondering if perhaps she could have caused that. It seemed impossible, but Dex strangely didn't doubt it all that much. After all, he read minds. Controlling fire wouldn't be too far off.
Willow stared at the lake as she moved her bright blue eyes. She started thinking of what to do today. Her list: Nada. She was bored all day, even though she loved the Willow tree and all, she couldn't stay forever. Maybe when it was night she would of went to a party or even her job. She soon thought about fire, how she loved it. Willow always loved fire, before she figured out her powers, she learned out to start a fire easy. Soon Willow leaned against the Willow tree and took a deep sigh. She imagined a barbecue, and all the fire and smoke in the air. It was like she was addicted to it. Soon she sighed than thought about what to do again, she knew that she doesn't work on weekends, too early to party. Soon Willow checked her time to see it was only 1:07 AM. Soon Willow sighed and looked around, soon she saw a boy looking at her and she raised a eyebrow.
At the matching of raised eyebrows, the corner of Dex's mouth lifted into a smirk. His eyes remained tagged on hers as he debated what to do with this situation. If he truly wanted, he thought he could delve into her mind and take out all the secrets right then and there, but he guessed that he didn't feel like doing that. Though it would have been nice to get it out of the way, Dex wasn't that much of a snoop. And besides, the chances of him pulling himself from her head with only minimal damage would be difficult. He was having difficulties pushing everyone's thoughts out of his head right now when he wasn't trying to collect them; purposefully trying would only spell out more trouble. So instead, he just lifted himself from his slumping position and wandered a little closer, not necessarily making it obvious that he was heading in her direction. Though he didn't care if she noticed if he was coming closer, he just wanted to observe a little more before he made conversation. Dex wasn't in the mood to be impulsive today.
Willow watched him walked towards her as she get go of her legs. She lowered her legs, removing her chin off of her knees, and relaxed her legs. She didn't know what the boy might do but she didn't want to. A lot of people now had dirty or cruel minds. Willow watched him as she got herself in a comfortable position. She couldn't tell if he was a BEE, human or mutant, though he did act abnormal. She watched him as she tried to back away or get in a protective potion slowly. Willow's eyes were the same as always, blue with specks of dark navy. But this time, those specks were dark red, not the most common thing for her.
To say that this girl interested Dex would be an understatement. The fact that she was so protective over herself was kind of cute in a way. Albeit, cute in the stupid animal kind of way. Though there were many things that Dex could have done - he did in fact have a gun in his back pocket - he wasn't going to pull that kind of stunt. Even if he wasn't the best person in the world, he wasn't a psychopath. A narcissistic drinker and smoker, yes, but he most certainly wasn't crazy... or at least not yet. Just as she thought he didn't seem normal, Dex thought the same of her. He'd stopped walking just to watch her for a bit, even if it was somewhat of a daunting thing to do. He was debating on whether or not to speak to her. And then there was also the decision of whether to do it in her mind or out loud. He was sure the first would have much more of an impact on her, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to put himself out there like that. Maybe just a little more observation and he would. He needed to be sure she wasn't human or BEE. If she wasn't one of those two, maybe he'd do something. Or, maybe he'd do it anyways. Yes, most likely the second.
To her the boy acted a little abnormal and stupid, yet humorous and pleasant. She watched him carefully, she smelled the gunpowder in his back and her eyes flared at him. Willow knew how right now she can just exploded the powder on his back and injure him. But still, she thought the boy was humorous. Soon she looked at him confused, if he was going to do something dangerous than obviously she would turn to her mutant form and blind him or distract him. She watched the boy than looked down and giggled. Soon Willow looked back at him and she said "Are you going to watch me all day long or say something". Willow soon moved her head a little quick to tease him and laughed. Her smile was a very cute thing to see, or that is what people said.
Hearing her voice, the idea of speaking to her non-verbally went right out the window. That option was no longer in existence. "I was thinking about it." He stated, bringing his shoulders up in a shrugging motion. The flaring in her eyes at the sense of a weapon was obvious to him though he couldn't tell the exact reason. He could have found out if he pleased, but sometimes he liked the mystery of not knowing what someone was thinking. It was much more fun that way. Besides, the crowded area gave him just enough buzz to cover up what she was thinking. At least being in a crowd gave him that advantage. However, it also meant that he truly couldn't pull out his gun if needed without making a scene. He always hated when that happened.((Yawn! Well, I have to be getting off to bed :3 Pick up in the morning? ))
(Okay :D)
Willow looked at him and smiled "So which decision was winning?". She would always be curious of many things, even if they seemed useless and not of needed. She mostly loved fire, a cause of life and death. Willow frowned and said "So what are you doing in the park with a cigar?".

((Last post XD I couldn't resist.))Dex only answered her questions with another, "Why so many questions?" It seemed like an appropriate thing to say given her constant blabbering. Her curiosity seemed unlimited and, though he wouldn't be the one to do it, it could be something to get her killed. Some people didn't take kindly to unwelcome questions. However, the second wasn't something that he couldn't answer, "I didn't know there was a ban on cigars in this park." His tone wasn't as serious as it could have been. Instead, it was much lighter with a hint of sarcasm thrown in there. He wasn't trying to stir up much trouble but he wasn't sure if it was needed or not yet. If it was, he would be happy to oblige. This girl, however, seemed innocent enough.
(Hehe, me niether o.o)
Willow looked at him and saod "I'm a curious girl, have been for awhile". She smiled lightly as it soon began to fade "The only place that is clean and safe, BEEs are careful" she said while looking at him. She looked from the side to her than back at him, noticing him just sitting in the middle of the grass. She looked than and smiled as her hair fell a little on her face.

"Curiosity killed the cat, sweetheart." Dex stated simply, shrugging his shoulders slightly. It was a stupid saying, he knew, but it felt right for the moment. Curiosity was never a winning trait in his book. It was always best to shut up and shoot before questions were asked. That was exactly the strategy he was going with now. Being the arrogant guy he was, Dex pulled out another pack of cigarettes, handling one between his fingertips as he smirked. "Aren't they always?" He didn't know whether it was obvious or not that he despised the BEEs; he supposed he'd leave that up to the girl to figure out for herself. In truth, Dex didn't care what she was at this point. If she was a BEE, then she was. He doubted it very highly - she didn't resemble one in the slightest - but it is what it is.
Willow looked at the boy and said "Whats your name?". Even though he was a bit abnormal, who wasn't? WIllow looked at him while squinting her eyes. She wasn't smiling nor frowning, just a straight look. Soon she sighed and looked again at the park lake. She cuddled up more, feeling a little cold, she hated the cold, but she was a phoenix. She looked around before she looked back at the boy, soon biting her lip and waiting for a answer.
Dex watched her closely, his hand frozen where it was. He thought about pulling out his lighter but instead just watched her for a moment. "Right down to business, huh?" His voice asked without his consent. He hadn't meant to say anything, but he just had. It slipped out when he wasn't paying attention. The debate on whether or not to give her his real name was a tough one. Though he didn't suspect her of anything, he didn't know whether she was on his side or not. If she was, she was as good as dead in his eyes. Then it wouldn't matter whether he gave her his name or not, "Dex." He stated, eyes narrowed slightly. He was expecting her to have the decency to return the favor of a name. After all, he'd gave her his; he deserved to know the same. Dex would be at a disadvantage if he didn't.
Willow looked at Dex as she soon said "Nice to meet you Dex". She smiled at the boy than looked around. She looked back at him and said "Willow". Some people are usually confused because she meets people under a willow tree mostly, and they are under one as well. Willow giggled before looking at his eyes with her blue ones. She didn't know what to do or what to say. Soon she realized what to say and said "So what are you doing here Dex?". She could tell that he didn't go here often.
((Sorry for the late reply, walked my dog))

((That's okay ^_^ I'm going really slow today anyways.))Hearing the girl's name, Dex smiled a bit before muttering under his breath, "That's not ironic at all." His gaze went up to her as she looked around. He was trying to get at what exactly interested her so much. Every second she seemed to be pointing her gaze at something else. Maybe she was just impatient; that seemed to be a trait they shared. "Talking to you." He said in reply to her question. He knew he was making the conversation flat but he didn't particularly care. What else was he supposed to say anyways? That he was here to try and fix his abilities or something? For some reason, that didn't really sit well with him.
((Its okay :D, im making a character in another group ^o^))
Willow looked at him and giggled. She thought he was very funny yet straight about questions. She looked at him and said "I meant before you even laid a eye on me". Willow bit the bottom of her lip as she looked at him. He had good hair and looks but that wasn't the case. She sighed than looked at a group of humans, who were supposedly barbecuing. She looked back at Dex than stretched her arms and legs. Even though it was mid-day, cuddling yourself tight for a while did hurt and make you wanna stretch.

((Me too XD ))Dex shifted on his feet, still not getting why she moved so much. Every second seemed to be a new glance, a new shift, a new position. He'd hardly moved from his spot since he'd walked over. Deciding he'd make a move too, Dex went a slumped against a tree not too far away. Albeit, it was a little further than where he'd been standing before, it was still in ear shot. At an even voice, he could still hear every word she said. Though he didn't need to hear it, Dex wanted to. He was already overwhelmed by everyone else's thoughts; he didn't need to hear hers. "Watching people and smoking. That's what I was doin'." Dex would keep dishing out these obvious questions no matter what. He wasn't revealing himself any time soon - or at least not until she did the same. There was an unusual air about her that he couldn't exactly put his finger on.
((XD))
Willow looked at him as he slumped on the tree. She decided that she had enough to just stand or sit under the willow. She stood up and soon said "I don't know about you but I can't really stand here and do nothing". She stretched her arms up high than started to walk away. She turned and saw Dex than saluted at him in a funny way. She giggled soon than turned, walking again. She saw a dirt path and soon people with horses passed by.

((I would have him, but I don't think he would XD It's more likely that he'd just stand there or something.))
((I dunno XD *Le gasp* He could save her from a flying Frisbee if you want. LOL, I'm just putting ideas out of nowhere now.))
((Yeah sure! That sounds good! Would you mind posting there first? I'm drowning in notifications again XD))
Cinder leaned back into the sun warmed grass, the sky impossibly blue, the clouds fluffy and white. She sighed contentedly and rested her hands onto her exposed stomach-her bright red tank top had ridden up slightly. She giggled as the wind fluttered her hair around her face, ticking her nose. Cinder loved this-the sunshine, the warmness-all of it. It was perfect.
Cinder closed her eyes and began playing with the swaying grass, burning little pieces of it and letting the ash flutter from between her finger tips. A wet, slobbery thing ran up her cheek and she let out a little shriek as she jumped up, her wide eyes round. She laughed when she saw the dog, tail wagging and tongue hanging slightly. She brushed the hair form her eyes and nibbled on her lip ring, wondering who the dog belonged to. "What's your name, fella?" She asked as she knelt back down in the grass.
Cinder lifted her head and met the man's gaze she stood and brushed off bits of grass from shorts and legs. "It's really all right." Cinder said with a small giggle. She patted the animal's head and smiled. "I'm Cinder by the way." She said, rolling her lip ring in her mouth.
Cinder glanced down at her feet, feeling a tad bit awkward. She wasn't good around strangers... She planted a smile on her face though, just as abreeze fluffed her hair. The scent of Jesse came with it and she grinned wider. He was a mutant. And a cute mutant at that. The dog let out a yip and Cinder glanced down at him. "What's his name?" She asked, her blue eyes sparking as she loked at Jesse. She felt a connection toward him, one she couldn't explain. But she liked it.
Cinder grinned at this-she helplessly loved all animals, even though she had never owned one of her own. "That's really amazing, how he trusted you so much." Cinder said, raising her eyes from Rigby's dark ones to Jesse's even darker ones. She smiled, her body warming as her fingers gave a little spark. She jumped back as a piece of grass lit on fire. She stomped it out quickly, muttering curses as she stared up apologetically.
Cinder blushed, and nodded, returning Jesse's crooked smile. "Yeah, but my powers kind of have a mind of their own." She let out a small laugh and patted Rigby on the head. "What are your powers? I already know you're a mutant." She said, her lips still curled into a grin.
Cinder widened her eyes at him, looking utterly lost. She had never heard the term before. She flicked her red hair from her eyes and gave him a small smile. "Never heard of it." She settled down in the grass beside him and stretched out her legs, crossing them at the ankles.
Cinder smiled over at him, knowing it was probably hard to control such a demanding power. She glanced down at her fingers, womdering what would happen if she touched him. Probably much the same... "So, does itbhappen every time, even if you've already touched the person?" Cinder asked, threading together a piece of grass and lighting it on fire.
((Sorry about the late reply :D))Cinder smiled and then proceeded to nibble on her lower lip. It seemed like an intriguing talent-not to mention rare. But it almost seemed like a burden. Having to see the pain the person went through... But she supposed it could have it's brighter points. "Do you ever wish you didn't have your power? I mean, what's like being able to see what a person through? Is it sad?" Cinder had always been curious, and here she was, bombarding this poor fellow.
Cinder nodded along with his answers-and then just kind of shrugged as he asked her a question. "Well, what do you want to know?" She asked, nibbling on her lips ring. She curled her knees underneath he and stared expectantly at him with her big eyes.
Cinder, glanced up at him and offered her hand. "Here's a good place to start." She smiled up at him, her hand centimeters from Jesse's. She didn't know what he would see, but it would surely be something-and then she could explain from there. It was easier than going through the whole bulk of it-the memories, and then trying to piece together a story.
((That's okay :D))Cinder lifted her chin a fraction, making her face mask-like as to not show any of the emotion that tried so desperately to get out. "It's okay, I wanted to show you. I know we just met randomly-"She let out a small laugh, "But I feel that I can trust you." She looked into his eyes, hers revealing only truth. Why, after all the years of being wary around everyone, did she feel like she could trust him with her life? She honestly didn't know. But she didn't mind it either.
