So the chef at Turner's Yard was on this past season of Hell's Kitchen! He didn't do particularly well, I guess if he had he wouldn't be around Pembroke any more!
Does that mean the place is icky?
I don't think so. He competed on Hell's Kitchen for a chance to win money-the restaurant wasn't on Kitchen Nightmares where the place is gross and needs help.
And I should be done with the book by tomorrow. It's a fairly quick read. I know a few of you already finished it.
So I finished this last night (btw-I don't think I have finished a book in time for book club all year! Hmm...interesting to note I also started dating in January. Coincidence? You be the judge!) but back to the book.
I went back and skimmed over "Otra Vida/Otra Vez", the story that's told by the girl who works in the laundry and I don't think it's Rafa's ex-girlfriend Nilda. The girl in the laundry story has been in the US only a few years and Nilda was born here. It doesn't fit with Pura either since she had a kid in the DR and one here. I don't know, I'm perplexed on that one.

I went back and looked and the only book I finished on time this year was Left Neglected and that was only because I read it over a year ago so it doesn't count!

We are meeting in person the last Sunday in August in Pembroke, MA. You can RSVP for the meeting here: http://www.goodreads.com/event/show/8...
Whether you can attend in person or not, feel free to discuss the book in this thread.
