Janet Evanovich Book Group discussion

I love Janet Evanovich and have read all the Plum novels, all the Wicked and the new O'Hare.

But...is it me or is the chemistry between the female and male characters feel transplanted from Plum books to the other books?

In the Wicked books Lizzy and Diesel, immediate, and practically acted upon.Granted, they can't due to losing of powers and what-not. (but the chemistry vibe still feels very early Plum/Ranger/Morelli)

Same with the O'Hare series, no acting upon, but it's there. Here's this kick ass woman (literally, kicks ass), and again, the early Plum books chemistry is there.

As good as the books are, I'm starting to feel a little let down in the imagination department.

there is a similarity between the characters.. still enjoy them though
