Haydensdad | 73 comments Hello everyone,
Looking for some info on the Sony e readers. A co workers father bought a used Sony e reader from a neighbor for $20, he is a little challenged when it comes to technology so he asked me to load some books onto it for him. Question will I need to set up an account with Sony in order to accomplish this or can I plug the e reader into my Mac and download books from my Adobe Digital Editions library?
I'm going to guess the device in question has been registered as it came with a book already loaded on it but really don't know.
Has anyone bought a used e reader and did you have any trouble loading books?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Jonathan | 2 comments If you're working on sideloading books, as long as it's in a supported ebook format, you should be fine. Only time that you'd need an account with Sony's ebook store is if you're buying the ebooks directly on the reader (if it's one of the wireless readers that you can shop on).

But if you use Calibre, working on the Sony ereaders is a breeze :)
